Juror # 11 is on Greta right now. He doesn't want his name given and is not showing his face. I am not impressed..
I read today that her attorneys are saying Casey will have a difficult time when she gets out. She has no place to go so far. She deserves a hell of a life..
Can you elaborate? Are you not impressed with his reasons for voting "not guilty," or what?
For what it's worth, my husband is an attorney, and he did not watch any of the news coverage of this case, nor did he read any articles online or otherwise. The only thing he finally watched was last Friday night. We'd just gotten done watching Friday Night Lights and then immediately following it, Dateline came on, and the first hour was about the trial. So, hubs watched that with me. When it was done, I asked him what he thought, and how he would have voted (albeit with the limited information that was given during that one hour). Wanna know what he said? Well, I'll tell ya anyway.
He said that with the information he had, he would have had to vote "not guilty," too. I asked why, and he said, "because the prosecution never proved how that child died. You can't convict someone of murder when you can't show that there has even been a murder. For all anyone knows from the information presented in this program, that child could have died a natural death. Casey Anthony would be guilty of covering it up, but she wasn't charged with that."
Now, don't get me wrong - hubs said that he doesn't believe that Casey Anthony didn't have anything to do with the death of her daughter, but based on the evidence presented, she had to be aquitted.
I would have to disagree with your husband...as stated numerous times before...that was not the only option. Besides the defense claimed she drowned in the pool, and granpa George helped her conceal the body...where was that evidence....NOWHERE.
Did they ever prove how Scott Peterson's wife and unborn baby died, at his hand before finding him guilty? This is just my opinion, but I think it is enough to prove that the deceased are dead because of the person on trial. How, is not as important as, is.
I agree with hubs, Lindsay, the state did not prove their case. Gemini40, the defense does not have to prove anything so they need not present evidence. The defendant is innocent until proven guilty. I believe that Casey caused her daughter's death, but I'm not sure how, that is between her and God. I don't think the jury had any options other than the charges as presented to them, and given their options I think they ruled as they had to on the charge of murder, I didn't like it but I agree with it.
that's why they charged this latest fl case with as many counts as possible (snake killing child)...
what still frosts me is the lack of concern when the meter man FIRST reported his findings...talk about bad police work...but.. oh yeah! they were looking for imaginary nanny...
I was going to say the same as Dot. There was no direct evidence in the Scott Peterson case. No cause of death, no weapon, minimal physical evidence, conflicting wittness accounts. He was convicted based on his behavior. There was a hair in a pair of pliers found either in his truck or boat, and concrete residue in the boat.
Not sure why other charges weren't filed in the Anthony case. Why werent wasn't she also charged with concealing evidence or obstruction or SOMETHING? Even in the very unlikely event she didn't cause her daughters death, she holds some responsability.
