Not guilty of 1st degree murder and aggravated assault.

Makes me sick to my stomach.

first 3 counts not guilty...4-7 lying, guilty...they will sentence her thurs..i'm stunned...

Me too, Kathleen. Wonder how much time she'll spend for lying. I bet the judge will give her the max he's allowed. He looked pretty shocked, himself!

Hasn't she been locked up since she was arrested? She'll probably get time served for the charges that she was convicted of.

OMG..it's OJ all over again.

Unbelievable.

no one will pay for that little darling's death and Casey gets away with murder.

I'm sick at my stomach. There are no words.

She'll pay if she spends time in a regular jail with real inmates they hate child molesters I've heard

Country, that's funny! I think we all did that!

I was just reading on a British newspaper that these counts are one year each and she has aready spent three years in jail.

Yes, I looked it up, and she can get one year each. She'll probably get time served.

I didn't follow the case very closely, but I can imagine that the jurors might have ignored testimony about her partying and tattoo and the like as irrelevant, concentrating on the actual act. No murder weapon, sounds like no one is even certain of exactly how the child died, no DNA to connect Casey or any other physical evidence, as I understand.

Not that I'm saying she didn't do it, because I don't know. Just saying I understand how a jury could reasonably find her not guilty, if they were able to follow the judge's instructions and ignore their emotions.

I can't help wondering where she thinks she'll live when she's released. Will her parents take her back after the allegations she made? (Again, I have no opinion on whether they're true or not, but just the fact that she made them will make living together difficult, if not impossible.

The jurors have decided not to hold a press conference and their names will be sealed by the judge for now. In fact, they are back on their way back to Pinellas County (St. Pete/Clearwater area)from Orlando (Orange County).

They said that the Jury Foreman was a male - PE Teacher, juror #11.

I think the murder weapon is the duct tape!!! Duct tape over mouth and nose.....uh, last time I checked, that results in death.

Her parents would be crazy to take Casey back into their home. She's 25 years old. It's time she grew up and became a responsible adult.

Employment will be difficult. But, she'll probably get a book offer that will bring her a tidy sum -- enough to support her party habit, anyway.

Suzieque - I didn't follow the trial enough to know the details about the duct tape. Did the prosecutor actually prove that was the cause of death? I thought not. I didn't listen to testimony, though. I just read reports, so I could easily be wrong.

I don't think they ever determined the cause of death. But the fact is that sweet little girl in the video sitting at the table "reading" a book is dead and nobody has taken responsibility for it or paying for it. How many of us remember our children pretending to know how to read. It's so depressing. The jury didn't have any choice since they had nothing to go on except the fact the mother is a sleeze and a liar who partied while others were out searching for her baby.

The lack of DNA evidence, due to the decompostion of the body was really the reason she got away with it. No fingerprints, no cause of death made it difficult for the jury to be able to convict. I listened to the Defense's closing statements and they were pretty powerful. He admitted that all the family members were liars, that Casey had major issues with reality. I am wondering if the parents agreed to be thrown under the bus just to add to the doubts -if so they will be more likely to take her back into the family. Otherwise - not so much. Either way - it doesn't bring the little girl back and they all have to live with that.

People are going by the place where the body was found and creating another memorial. Police have secured off the area around the Anthony's home as well. Its a media circus and the police have asked for the citizens to stay calm. I think they were execting some taking to the streets in anger.

Reminds me of the OJ trial. But remember, he's a pariah now-no family,no job. I hope Casey suffers the same fate. By the way, she can't lie to God.

Her mom and dad left as soon as the the verdict was read, while the judge was still speaking.

I haven't followed it at all either, but an autopsy should have shown the difference between drowning or suffocation. Didn't that happen?

Of course there was an autopsy. But there's only so much a coroner can do with a skeleton. They couldn't pin down a cause of death.

I too am very surprized..I thought it was interesting that her parents left the courtroom so early, there did not seem to be much expression on their faces when the verdict was read..they were probibly stunned as well,I believe they thought she was guilty.. After all that was said, I wonder if they can take her back into thier family.
