DH is staying up in the suburbs for dinner--his coworkers are taking him out to celebrate his retirement next week. So I just made some leftover chicken into chicken salad, plopped it on a bowl of lettuce and am enjoying it with a half a bagel on the side.

Little steak and potato salad....haven't made the latter yet this summer,so should be a treat.

Ribs! Finally, Woody figured out how to make them right and they are really good. I made some slaw to go with them. I'd do baked beans, but I'm pinned down by a sleeping kitten and can't get to the kitchen.

I get my ground beef and ground pork at this teeny, tiny grocery a few miles from me. The store was started in the mid 1800s, and most of it is still 'original'. I have to call and order it so I can get it ground very lean. They also carry some Amish things including lunchmeats and cheeses. They had my favorite today: dutchloaf meat and marble cheese. I got both.

And they also make up their own salads of all kinds. I got about a half a pound of their broc,cauli,purple onion one. So guess what I had for my meal? A hamburger with lettuce and onions, and some of the broc salad!!!! Food fit for a queen.

Glenda, I should've gone someplace to get out of this dusty mess. The water would've felt good! I keep reading about salted caramel. Is it better than just plain old caramel?

Nothing like potato salad, Phyllis. I love it so much. Any kind, any time! I really prefer the old fashioned kind with lots of eggs, onion and mayo but I like the kind made with olive oil, too.

FlamingO, it's good to hear from you. Hope you're still making your amazing crafts. Hope you can share pictures. You have such a great talent. I do love me some ribs and slaw just seems to be the perfect go-with. At least, for me. Thanks to kitty--saved you from kitchen duty :-)

Oh my, Shirley, that sounds so good. My favorite Amish cheese is baby swiss. It's so creamy. Bet you have a smile on your face after that feast!!

Boneless BBQ pork ribs, mac and cheese and green beans. Almost done. Can't wait.

Ham, mashed potatoes, steamed yellow squash,and sliced tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. It was delicious!

Some friends had a free round of golf at a local country club and they invited me to play. Our T-time wasn't until 12:30, didn't get home until 5:30, took a quick shower and got ready to go out tonight for Mexican train. We had leftover curried chicken salad.
