Lunched with friend, Bess, after church, today.

She's friend having chemo for colon cancer.

Bess had a catfish plate and I ordered half a hamburger steak plate with plain baked potato and a serving of salad.

Found out you can order half a plate on the meat portion, which is ample, for less $

Very disappointing dinner. Tried a new recipe for the slow cooker using a pork roast. It sounded good......apple juice, soy sauce, garlic, but it had no flavour. Since the flavour was similar to my regular pork roast recipe that I use (with the molasses), I threw the recipe out. The rest of the roast I'll turn into pulled pork sandwiches.

This was the first recipe in a long time that wasn't a keeper.

I will be waiting for everyone to come over to have mac & cheese with the icebox cake for dessert. The cake was so good, the recipe is a keeper

Glenda, lunch must have been really fun with your friend. I wish more restaurants would offer smaller portions with a smaller price. Your lunch sounds like just the right size for me--and Harry, too.

Jasdip, that happened to me last night. Used a Paula Deen recipe for the stir fry sauce and it was lousy. Threw the leftovers down the disposal! Hate when that happens!!

Mary, want to share your ice box cake recipe? I haven't had one for years. I think all of us would be there if it was humanly possible ;-) Lucky for you, it isn't!!

I think we are going to have taco salads unless my husband volunteers to light a fire and grill some thick bone in pork chops.

We had BBQ chicken, tossed salad and garlic cheese biscuits. Mary, is your icebox cake the chocolate wafers with whipped cream?

I had spaghetti, a salad, and a dish of mixed fruits.

made big, juicy, messy hamburgers on ridiculously small buns, and potato salad

I did manage to cook a couple chicken breasts and some micro mashed potatoes last evening. Was in the hospital for a week, so not quite back to normal yet. Bad thing was my husband was home with the stomach flu. He very seldom ever gets sick so he was down and out for a few days.
Your food sounds quite good after what I ate the last week. LOL!
