What is everyone doing today?

Hello...I went for my walk and had Physical Therapy this morning! My daughter and I made some cookies, then I did a few chores around the house! This afternoon, I think I will settle in with my book!

How about everyone else??

Not as much as I should, I'm afraid. I'm so addicted to watching the trial--LOL. Did tear myself away from it for a bit this morning, to run to the bank and accountants, to do some errands involving my aunt's estate. Otherwise, I've been pretty much glued to the computer, watching or just listening to the coverage.

This morning was spent doing detailed spring cleaning in our master bath. You know, the kind where you use dental tools, a toothbrush, microfiber and all kinds of cleaning solutions to get all the grunge out and nice sparkle in its place. This afternoon with be spent looking for a new car for me. My poor little eleven your old beemer is feeling rather zapped of electrical integrity. Among other annoying problems, it blows fuses, interior and exterior lights within minutes of replacing them. It runs great though. :-) Our son the Audi tech tells us it may cost us more than we're willing to pay to have BMW troubleshoot and fix the problem, so off we go car shopping. Jodi-

Oh, Granlan, I am still not moving as I want. I think a lot of rest would help it. I keep doing things then resting. My husband has had two total knee replacements and he recovered just fine. It took me over a year to even feel well, not the bending, but I just felt like someone that had been really, really sick. I had to be in the hospital for 8 days, had to be on a lot of oxygen, kept runninng a fever and more pints of blood. I found out later from my family doctor after she got my records from the hospital that I apparently had a blood clot pass through my lung! So I want to avoid another total knee replacement if I can. I am riding along in a bit with youngest DD. I will sit in the truck with the dogs while she goes into the Dollar Store. We may pick up some lunch someplace. I don't feel like cooking. I have been trying to get some laundry done and have been trying to get my clothes pole put back into place. I finally have it there, so now I need to find a screw to put in it. Oh, and I still hear the squirrel in the fireplace. Maybe this afternoon will be better. Hope the sun is shining where everyone else is. Sue

Worked today. We had a dinner at work for Mother's Day, fried chicken, potatoes & green beans, corn, broccoli salad, rolls, macaroni salad, potato salad, mac & cheese, fresh apple slices and strawberry cheesecake. All very good. Nice, semi-busy day, but not horribly so. Came home and me and the kids took out all our old junk, old paint cans from when we first moved here to this house and what the previous owner left, 2 microwaves, a treadmill, old bookcase (that someone picked up while we were still moving stuff out), two broken dining room chairs, an end table, several computer terminals, an old monitor, Lauren's old daybed and mattresses, old broken Christmas tree, etc... The city is coming to pick up this stuff tomorrow. They do it once a year. The guy who came to look through our junk and who took the bookcase, helped Alex move the treadmill down to the road. We three were struggling to get it out of the front door so he came up to help. Nice, huh? Someone else came by before that but I don't think they took anything. Tomorrow and the next day I get to finish painting Alex's old room, clean it up and then work on cleaning up the garage. I've had my car sitting out the last few days and I'll be glad to be able to put it in the garage at night. It was chilly this morning with dew all over it, took forever to clear the windows so I could see out of it. Oh, and my dad called while I was at work to wish me a Happy Mother's day, so when I was on break I called him back (he had left me a voicemail messsage), got a text from an old friend and one newer friend, for the same reason. Came home and the kids had a card waiting for me. ( : Not too bad a Mother's Day.

Not too much. Spent the morning visiting my aunt at the assisted living facility. Then came home and polished the upstairs floors with Old English Scratch Cover--does a GREAT job on floors. Then spent some time organizing and paying bills. DH came home late--they've been working overtime every day--and I reached into the freezer to get some bacon for BLT's.... Ooops, knew I had bacon, but I realized it's at the other house, so we ran out for Chick Fila. Then, when we got home, the little gal next door was out, she got interested when she saw my husband changing the batteries in my metal detector, so I tossed a handful of change into the back yard when she wasn't looking and let her have fun finding it.

In for the day, now, to stay cool. Hot and humid outside and afternoon thunderstorms are on their way.

No TV here and waiting for the water to start to go down in Minot. Still very limited travel for at least 2 weeks. So much damage and so many houses to be replaced. I am shopping in other towns.

Trying to finish my first PD James book this morning, which I am finding a little slow. I keep putting it down. Also crocheting a baby blanket for our son's future wife's expected niece with the baby's name spelled out in blocks of cluster stitches. Next I plan to work on transplanting a few pony packs into the border along our front walk. Some of the winter plantings should have been ripped out, but I let them stay in the hopes they would do well. They're not, so out they go. This year I am trying just groups of various colors fo alyssum in the hopes that they will fill out and look fluffy. I really need to shampoo the family room rug, and may or may not get to that today. I am a good procrastinator.

Laying in bed this morning, I had big plans on all I was going to accomplish today and ended up doing diddley-squat. Talked to my DSis for almost two hours. Picked up the house, but I REALLY need to clean. Oh well, as Miss Scarlett said, "Tomorrow is another day."

Laundry, then cut the back lawn. Took the dog down to the beach and let him play in the waves. Silly dog can't get enough of the water. Now he's a wet sandy mess! But so happy!
