What Did Everyone Do Today?

I think I shopped till I dropped. I went with Cheryl today. We hit the Goodwill store and then ate our early lunch at the Sirloin Stockade, oh so good. Then we made our way to Hobby Lobby had great fun picking out $.99 McCall's patterns and getting some clearance fabric. Then not far we went to Joann's and more clearance fabric and just looked at pattern books again. We finally made it to Penney's and had such fun each buying baby clothes for "Giggles". We finally made our way to Meijer and bought a few groceries there and headed for home. It was a very fun day but oh so tiring. I hope everyone had a fun day!

You had all the fun!! A new gran baby on the way.....WOW!

I went to the grocery store twice, picked up window glass I'd ordered,went to the dollar store, a book I'd put on hold @ the library came in. I did a load of laundry, planted a clematis I purchased yesterday, skinned chicken, made sandwiches....ho hum stuff....it sprinkled for about an hour.....

Went to my every-other-week manicure/pedicure and massage at the spa.

Now...tomorrow is a different story.
I have to wake up early and take car to dealer for yearly state inspection. Leaving it there. DH will pick me up and take me over to the rec center for a quick workout, and then out to late lunch with DH and SIL.

Ok you guys no one offered but I'm asking...I want some of the trumpet vines and some morning glories as long as they are not pale pink. Anyone want to share some of their bounty with me? (PLEASE). Ok, Pretty Please with sugar on it! I also need ya'lls help with a difficult area I want to plant SOMETHING. It is in the shade all day, and the soil is lousy and I really can't amend it because of trees and roots. I have flowerbeds around the trees with vinca ground cover, daffs, and irises. I outlined the beds with iron ore rocks that are all over this place. They look real pretty but it's the area between the flowerbeds and the walkway that is nothing but dirt. What can I plant there that will grow good in the shade and look nice. I'm tired of looking at the dirt. Please keep in mind this area has SORRY SOIL and the huge trees will probably suck up most of the water. Anyone got and ideals for me? I certainly would be thrilled with any of ya'lls thoughts. I'm brain dead when it comes to this area. Happy Gardening, and please share some of the morning glory and trumpet vines with me. Allison, I love the pictures I have seen of your house, care to share more? The stone is awesome, someday I hope to build our retirement home using stone out in the country, but alas, to me lving in the country means snakes... just hate the thought of being surprised by one. We lived in town and the neighbors snakes infested our yard, memories of enjoying a walk in my yard barefoot and then seeing them slither away (just icky!) It's been two years and its still too fresh to think about that again! Oops, forgive me for straying on that thought (and this thread), this board has been so slowy lately since, well you know....so I don't think I will get in trouble for straying. Seven pets, you are my kind of woman! My DH has limited us to four pets with fur, can't say I blame him. Can you place some kind of "memory garden" for your pets at your new house? Maybe that is something you can incorporate into your landscaping plans to honor their memory at your new home. I know how special pets becomes and how hard it is when they are gone...building something special in honor of them may make it a little easier.

What a crazy day. I was out planting the last flowers and DH brings me the phone, it's a good friend and I tell, Jan, I'll call her back in 15 minutes. Finish the flowers and call Jan back. Talk for 5 and DH wants some help planting tomato and watermelon plants, will call Jan back. Done planting and call Jan, DH comes in and asks if I want the stuff that I painted to stay outside, a storm is coming. I tell Jan I'll call her back. Run outside and save the painted "stuff". Call Jan back. We're talking and I'm looking outside and the wind is picking up and it is getting really dark. Look at the pontoon boat and see that something isn't right, holler for DH to take a look. Wind has pulled dock over and pontoon in danger. Tell Jan I will call her back. DH gets his waders on and I go out on the dock as far as I dare to hold pontoon lines. The wind is blowing and it is thundering, DH in the water and me on the dock! Get it all done and the rain starts, we race for the house! Call Jan back.........call waiting chimes in but I ignore it, she's been interupted enough! Trying to finish my first PD James book this morning, which I am finding a little slow. I keep putting it down. Also crocheting a baby blanket for our son's future wife's expected niece with the baby's name spelled out in blocks of cluster stitches. Next I plan to work on transplanting a few pony packs into the border along our front walk. Some of the winter plantings should have been ripped out, but I let them stay in the hopes they would do well. They're not, so out they go. This year I am trying just groups of various colors fo alyssum in the hopes that they will fill out and look fluffy. I really need to shampoo the family room rug, and may or may not get to that today. I am a good procrastinator.

I went for an eye exam for new glasses and did a little shopping then got fried chicken and took it to my daughter's for supper.

I have been cleaning house, doing laundry, cooking and working a little in the yard today.
I just can't seem to resist pulling weeds when I go out to hang the clothes on the line or check the mailbox.
Darned spotted spurge and crab grass!

Played golf, went to lunch, did some grocery shopping, some crocheting, and shortly I'm going to head upstairs and clean the guest room. I have company coming on Friday. I washed and ironed the sheets yesterday and have to make up the bed, clean the bathroom, ceiling fan, vacuum and dust. Then I'm through for the day.

I met 3 of my high school friends for a 2 hour lunch and then we went to see Eat Pray Love. It was a fun day!!!

I went to lunch at Logans and had chopped sirloin covered with onions and mushrooms. I came home to kill some time then went to a closing on Mom's house. It had been on the market a couple of months with only one nibble. Came home from there, emailed an out of state sister to expect her check. Glad it's finished. After that nothing, but watched a movie, The Calendar Girls. Lots of laughter and tears, very good movie.

I went to UPS to return something I bought on line. Then I just had to drive by the house the new ISU men's basketball coach bought for $1,185,000. I couldn't see much of it from the street, unlike the rest of the houses in that area that don't have any privacy. Then I went to Lowe's and came home and painted off and on for most of the day. I am going to be painting tomorrow also.

Slept till 11:00 trying to recover from 3 days at work this past weekend. Got up, played some games on the computer to relax, did laundry, dishes, finally showered and went to the store to pick up more lunchmeat, cheese, bread and some cheap juice, among other things. Came home and made dinner and then had a nice long talk with my daughter about her recent rude behavior toward her mother, in my car when I picked her up from the park. She's grounded for 2 days now.

Georgysmom-You IRONED sheets? You must be having some important guests!LOL Our guests last week were lucky they just had CLEAN sheet laying on the bed.LOL (they were just my kids so it didn't matter.LOL)
I spent the day chasing after 2 2 year olds.I've decided, I'm too old for this! They are funny little goobers though.

I am impressed, Georgysmom. I loved the ironed sheets when I was a kid--Mom sent our weekly 5 sets of sheets to the commercial laundry along with Dad's white shirts. They sure did feel good, but I am not about to iron sheets!

I spent the day in West LA at my daughter's. Babysat the grandsons so she could get to some appointments and did laundry for her too. She has a 10 month old and 3 1/2 year old.
