What Did Everyone Do Today?

I think I shopped till I dropped. I went with Cheryl today. We hit the Goodwill store and then ate our early lunch at the Sirloin Stockade, oh so good. Then we made our way to Hobby Lobby had great fun picking out $.99 McCall's patterns and getting some clearance fabric. Then not far we went to Joann's and more clearance fabric and just looked at pattern books again. We finally made it to Penney's and had such fun each buying baby clothes for "Giggles". We finally made our way to Meijer and bought a few groceries there and headed for home. It was a very fun day but oh so tiring. I hope everyone had a fun day!

You had all the fun!! A new gran baby on the way.....WOW!

I went to the grocery store twice, picked up window glass I'd ordered,went to the dollar store, a book I'd put on hold @ the library came in. I did a load of laundry, planted a clematis I purchased yesterday, skinned chicken, made sandwiches....ho hum stuff....it sprinkled for about an hour.....

Went to my every-other-week manicure/pedicure and massage at the spa.

Now...tomorrow is a different story.
I have to wake up early and take car to dealer for yearly state inspection. Leaving it there. DH will pick me up and take me over to the rec center for a quick workout, and then out to late lunch with DH and SIL.

Oh, Granlan, I am still not moving as I want. I think a lot of rest would help it. I keep doing things then resting. My husband has had two total knee replacements and he recovered just fine. It took me over a year to even feel well, not the bending, but I just felt like someone that had been really, really sick. I had to be in the hospital for 8 days, had to be on a lot of oxygen, kept runninng a fever and more pints of blood. I found out later from my family doctor after she got my records from the hospital that I apparently had a blood clot pass through my lung! So I want to avoid another total knee replacement if I can. I am riding along in a bit with youngest DD. I will sit in the truck with the dogs while she goes into the Dollar Store. We may pick up some lunch someplace. I don't feel like cooking. I have been trying to get some laundry done and have been trying to get my clothes pole put back into place. I finally have it there, so now I need to find a screw to put in it. Oh, and I still hear the squirrel in the fireplace. Maybe this afternoon will be better. Hope the sun is shining where everyone else is. Sue

What a crazy day. I was out planting the last flowers and DH brings me the phone, it's a good friend and I tell, Jan, I'll call her back in 15 minutes. Finish the flowers and call Jan back. Talk for 5 and DH wants some help planting tomato and watermelon plants, will call Jan back. Done planting and call Jan, DH comes in and asks if I want the stuff that I painted to stay outside, a storm is coming. I tell Jan I'll call her back. Run outside and save the painted "stuff". Call Jan back. We're talking and I'm looking outside and the wind is picking up and it is getting really dark. Look at the pontoon boat and see that something isn't right, holler for DH to take a look. Wind has pulled dock over and pontoon in danger. Tell Jan I will call her back. DH gets his waders on and I go out on the dock as far as I dare to hold pontoon lines. The wind is blowing and it is thundering, DH in the water and me on the dock! Get it all done and the rain starts, we race for the house! Call Jan back.........call waiting chimes in but I ignore it, she's been interupted enough! Worked today. We had a dinner at work for Mother's Day, fried chicken, potatoes & green beans, corn, broccoli salad, rolls, macaroni salad, potato salad, mac & cheese, fresh apple slices and strawberry cheesecake. All very good. Nice, semi-busy day, but not horribly so. Came home and me and the kids took out all our old junk, old paint cans from when we first moved here to this house and what the previous owner left, 2 microwaves, a treadmill, old bookcase (that someone picked up while we were still moving stuff out), two broken dining room chairs, an end table, several computer terminals, an old monitor, Lauren's old daybed and mattresses, old broken Christmas tree, etc... The city is coming to pick up this stuff tomorrow. They do it once a year. The guy who came to look through our junk and who took the bookcase, helped Alex move the treadmill down to the road. We three were struggling to get it out of the front door so he came up to help. Nice, huh? Someone else came by before that but I don't think they took anything. Tomorrow and the next day I get to finish painting Alex's old room, clean it up and then work on cleaning up the garage. I've had my car sitting out the last few days and I'll be glad to be able to put it in the garage at night. It was chilly this morning with dew all over it, took forever to clear the windows so I could see out of it. Oh, and my dad called while I was at work to wish me a Happy Mother's day, so when I was on break I called him back (he had left me a voicemail messsage), got a text from an old friend and one newer friend, for the same reason. Came home and the kids had a card waiting for me. ( : Not too bad a Mother's Day.

Not too much. Spent the morning visiting my aunt at the assisted living facility. Then came home and polished the upstairs floors with Old English Scratch Cover--does a GREAT job on floors. Then spent some time organizing and paying bills. DH came home late--they've been working overtime every day--and I reached into the freezer to get some bacon for BLT's.... Ooops, knew I had bacon, but I realized it's at the other house, so we ran out for Chick Fila. Then, when we got home, the little gal next door was out, she got interested when she saw my husband changing the batteries in my metal detector, so I tossed a handful of change into the back yard when she wasn't looking and let her have fun finding it.

I went for an eye exam for new glasses and did a little shopping then got fried chicken and took it to my daughter's for supper.

I have been cleaning house, doing laundry, cooking and working a little in the yard today.
I just can't seem to resist pulling weeds when I go out to hang the clothes on the line or check the mailbox.
Darned spotted spurge and crab grass!

Played golf, went to lunch, did some grocery shopping, some crocheting, and shortly I'm going to head upstairs and clean the guest room. I have company coming on Friday. I washed and ironed the sheets yesterday and have to make up the bed, clean the bathroom, ceiling fan, vacuum and dust. Then I'm through for the day.

I met 3 of my high school friends for a 2 hour lunch and then we went to see Eat Pray Love. It was a fun day!!!

I went to lunch at Logans and had chopped sirloin covered with onions and mushrooms. I came home to kill some time then went to a closing on Mom's house. It had been on the market a couple of months with only one nibble. Came home from there, emailed an out of state sister to expect her check. Glad it's finished. After that nothing, but watched a movie, The Calendar Girls. Lots of laughter and tears, very good movie.

I went to UPS to return something I bought on line. Then I just had to drive by the house the new ISU men's basketball coach bought for $1,185,000. I couldn't see much of it from the street, unlike the rest of the houses in that area that don't have any privacy. Then I went to Lowe's and came home and painted off and on for most of the day. I am going to be painting tomorrow also.

Slept till 11:00 trying to recover from 3 days at work this past weekend. Got up, played some games on the computer to relax, did laundry, dishes, finally showered and went to the store to pick up more lunchmeat, cheese, bread and some cheap juice, among other things. Came home and made dinner and then had a nice long talk with my daughter about her recent rude behavior toward her mother, in my car when I picked her up from the park. She's grounded for 2 days now.

Georgysmom-You IRONED sheets? You must be having some important guests!LOL Our guests last week were lucky they just had CLEAN sheet laying on the bed.LOL (they were just my kids so it didn't matter.LOL)
I spent the day chasing after 2 2 year olds.I've decided, I'm too old for this! They are funny little goobers though.

I am impressed, Georgysmom. I loved the ironed sheets when I was a kid--Mom sent our weekly 5 sets of sheets to the commercial laundry along with Dad's white shirts. They sure did feel good, but I am not about to iron sheets!

I spent the day in West LA at my daughter's. Babysat the grandsons so she could get to some appointments and did laundry for her too. She has a 10 month old and 3 1/2 year old.
