Thankfully, I don't have to go out, since it's still really hot even though we got two good rains last night.

First, I read boh newspapers and worked all the crosswords, cryptograms and Jumble. My morning ritual!!

I made the cake I posted on "I'll Share My Recipe" post but haven't frosted it yet. While the cake was in the oven I tackled the chicken wings we got at the grocery into three parts. Cooked the tips and made a really rich broth and divided the wings into 3 packages and ran them through the Food Saver. Harry always buys a huge family-sized portion of wings for some reason.

Have rice cooked to go with tonights dinner, picked up the house and put things away--a daily chore. Other than that I've just been playin' on the computer.

I need to make some noodles to go with that broth. Maybe tomorrow.

Mostly sleeping. I had a bad night last night. However, I think I shall start moving now. Need to make dinner before I get sleepy again.

Went to a all city garage sale. Only bought one box of mixed towels, crafts etc for 3.00. Gave him a 5.00 got my 2.00 back and later felt so guilty. His wife is in a nursing home with dementia and he has to sell all her craft stuff etc because he doesn't need it. He said she use to decorate the whole house each season, and he has alot of more stuff to get rid of. She packaged everything by seasons. So sad, and I did feel so bad about that lousy 2.00
Glad I am cutting back or would have bought so much more I really don't need.
He was such a nice person.

I have to attend a wedding. I don't have the wedding gene and really try to avoid things like this. But the bride is our DD's good friend and I feel it is important we be there. I really like the couple and want to be there for them. So I'm sucking it up and going. Hopefully this will be the last time I ever have to go to a traditional wedding.

Too hot to work in the garden, and too warm in the house to sweep and mop floors like I should. Got so bored - how bored was I? I cleaned out a utensil drawer and put in new drawer liner.....ugh.

But it just now started to rain! Not hard enough, but hope it continues the rest of the evening and overnight. Reading about all those pies isn't doing anything for my diet.

Hubby is out of town at a sports show so I went to a mani-pedi appointment this morning, new gal so it was a test! My manicurist is off on medical leave, I have a feeling she won't be returning so the search is on!

This gal is sweet and she is good too, had a new thing done, shellac! To last for 2 + weeks on the manicure.

Then hit a few shops that I know hubby would not want to go with me and picked up a few gifts for him, birthday and Christmas!

Going to BFF's for supper so made a fruit salad to take along.

My so wonderful neighbor moved yesterday. He and his soon to be wife invited me to come see the before and later the after. Caught them unloading in the kitchen.

After sleeping in late, got up and played Pogo Scrabble (I'm now officially addicted) for a few hours. Now I'm mowing, weed eating the front yard. Getting ready to trim some bushes after the mower dies again. My mower died and wouldn't start back so when it needs a rest I come in and take a break, drink some iced tea and read on-line. I also took some pictures for Maria, one of our exchange students from last year. She helped me plant my tomatoes before she left and now they are ripening.

The backyard is a mess. I'm on vacation for about a week and a half and am just going to clean the house and yard. Going out after I finish mowing the front yard and get some mulch. I want to fix up the garden where we buried Luther so it looks nice. Maybe plant some flowers too.

Up early (5:30). Packed up and headed to the country house--stopped for breakfast on the way. Once we got here and unpacked, we headed out to go to the bank, and the Amish Market. Only bought a few things, as we don't have our fridge plugged in, since we're not here too often.

Cleaned out a couple of boxes of mom's and aunt's old paperwork, shredded an entire black trash bag of pages. DD came down to visit. We went to the town carnival (not much!), out to lunch, then SHE wanted to go to the Amish market, so back we went again--LOL! She just left about an hour ago, so I'm sitting here relaxing for a bit.

DH is out back fixing one of the lawn mowers. It's the one I usually use. Luckily, HE was the one who ran over a thick root and caused the damage--I'd never hear the end of it, if I'd done it--LOL.

In a little while, we'll probably head out for a bite, and to go to Home Depot to get some molding for the living room. It's a bit elaborate--has leaves, a border--will take me a while to get it stained the way I want, and then sealed. Maybe by fall we'll get it up....

Nice day though.

I woke up drained today, but decided to do some errands anyway. Went out of town to Sears to get a food dehydrator, but they didn't have any. Went to Wal Mart to see if they had one and also an adapter, and they didn't have them. Looked at Canadian Tire, and they didn't have them either. Went to Pizza Hut hoping to order the salad bar, but they don't have the salad bar out on Saturdays. I was going to rest for a bit and go for a walk tonight and listen to my podcast, but there doesn't seem to be a new podcast show today. Today is not my day.

Oh, Susan, some days you just have to wonder 'why did I get out of bed today.' I'm sure tomorrow will be better.....well, it can't be much worse. LOL ((((susan))))

Poor Susan! What a frustrating day.

I slept late, then went grocery shopping, came home with a lot of fruit!

Now I'm watching my niece and nephew having a long conversation on Facebook. They've never met, they live on opposite sides of the country, but they have so much fun talking to each other on Facebook. They are very entertaining to read.

I should vacuum or do something constructive, I guess.

I went to my step daughter's bridal shower. It was very nice.

Not going to make it to get mulch. My whole body hurts and I still have to gather up branches from a forsythia bush I'm trying to cut down.

We went and got some paint and then went to eat at perkins. Bought a few groceries. After that I am tired

My neighbour just told me that after I left to do those errands today (or try to do the errands), she saw me get my sunglasses out of my car and get into my husband's car and watched us drive away, and I left my car door wide open!! She came over and closed it for me...lol.

I have had a lazy day. Spent the morning and early afternoon knitting and finishing a baby jacket I knit for my son's future niece. Then I started some booties to match a hat I knit for her.

This afternoon I have browsed on the internet. Among other things, looking for some All Clad for DD. It seems they have changed the surface of the interior of the pans. Grrr.

baby sat 2 of my dgd's...although they're 8 and 9, took them to the water feature in the park...(water squirts out and buckets spill) they spent a good 20 minutes playing...then took them to their house...dh and their parents had gone golfing...

Marilyn, would you like to "adopt" me for just one weekend? Hopefully a BAKING weekend? Pretty please???

Did the grocery shopping, made spagetti sause, checked what the KTers were up to, will take a nap in a little while

Today I'm still in my pjs. Was watching some program about different dog breeds and read some on-line. Now I'm paying bills. I got up a little early today because the kids went to Indiana for a concert. I'm a little nervous about Alex driving in heavy traffic, in a couple of big cities: Louisville and Indianapolis. They're almost there.

After I pay bills I'm going to change and clean the sunroom. It's not so hot today so it'll be a good day to do that.

Staying in all day, and planning to watch golf this afternoon.

I'm going to have a well-done roast beef for dinner and it's going in the oven soon.

After weeks of no rain and brown lawns the skies let loose this weekend. We have our annual music festival here this weekend! So after supper with BFF the rain stopped and we went to see Greg Allman and a bit of Terrance Simeon, a fab zydeco band!

Jasdip, I had a piece of lemon bundt cake at the church dinner today and it was so good. Can you believe I thought of you and you making them!

Pammyfay any Saturday which the church is having a first Sunday of the month meal, I most likely will be baking, so come on over! My raspberry pie is always the first to go. So many want it that they get it before the other food and have it waiting for them when they finish up their meal!

They even ask as we are making our way down to the basement kitchen, if I brought black raspberry pie.

Lynn Greg Allman was here playing Friday nite at our annual Blues Festival!

DH went to see Johnnie Winter then saw Pat Travers and Pat was amazing. Far better than Winter.

How sweet of you Sue! Had a little nibble and the cake tastes fantastic. Your reputation is very well known as a baker! They let you know their favourites. LOL

I actually did get my butt outside this morning and edged the flower beds and shrubbery, decided if I was going to do that I might as well go buy mulch and put that down. Drove to Lowes in my dirty work clothes, got six bags of mulch, came home and worked until 4pm. Ran out of mulch, but I called it quits for the day. Next week we are suppose to have some days in the 70's, so I'll finish up then. SO many weeds, I filled five bucketfuls.

Now I need to find something for supper, hungry for fish of some sort.

He's really making the circuit, isn't he? And covering some distance! How cool, did you go to see him, Sherry? I was never a fan but it was part of the weekend pass so why pass it up!

I didn't go Lynn. DH is the blues fan around here. I thought that was just so cool that he was in yours and my cities in just a couple of days.
