the folks that felt it here in se mi are keeping the tv news busy...

How scary. I've heard people get motion sickness from it. I've put a link to a good real time earth site, yours is on there. Have you ever felt one in that area before?

We have had 4 point something earthquakes here before and I felt those. I lived out west and felt them there too.

While the couch was rolling I did feel some vertigo but it doesn't take much to make me feel dizzy. LOL

I was sitting in a vibrating chair for about 15 seconds. No rattling in the china cabinet. The cat stood "en guarde" with a puzzled look.

How about that -- I'm used to them here in California, but didn't think about earthquakes in your neck of the woods. Take care!

My brother lives in Buffalo-he felt it! My Mom, 13 miles east, in Clarence NY did not!

Felt it here! My desk chair at work was shaking and I thought someone was behind me doing it. Then we saw the walls move and the glass shake! Spooky! I felt a little off balance for awhile later.

First I thought my friend was shaking my desk. Then we heard that it was felt in Fonthill, then St. Catharines, and then we heard it originated near Ottawa. It lasted 108 seconds.

Yes it was felt here in Northern Ontario also...

I heard on the news that buildings were damaged heavily in Quebec. 5.5 is pretty darned rare here.

We sure felt it! (Just north of Toronto). My dining room table, buffet and hutch were shaking like crazy. I thought I was having a dizzy spell but it was the house that was shaking, not me! It was wild!

We have the G8 + G20 summits going on in Toronto right now, it's the first day. My first thought, after I realized that I wasn't fainting, was that it was an terrorist attack.

To make matters even more interesting, we are now on a tornado watch. Just north of us was declared a state of emergency and there has been considerable damage to some parts around the Midland area.

Now if all of this was happening on a tv show, I'd think "how unrealistic". LOL

Earthquate (5.5) and tornado's all on the same day and in the city that the world leaders are in.

I wonder what their first thoughts were ...

The storms that just passed through Windsor this evening were pretty wicked. I just came on line now because my cat Lucy finally came out of hiding. Not over yet though.

I heard about that quake. I believe it was along the St. Lawrence fault zone. Ever notice how straight the St. Lawrence river is? It is flowing in a big fault zone.

Clairdo, are you near Midland? Did you have any effects of the tornado?

I live 60 miles S of Cleveland OH & our newspaper said some peeps felt the tremors here! Tremors also in IN--Pa--WVA--VE--NH--NJ--& NY-

I felt it here to,near to Bancroft area...it felt like a bulldozer was in my basement--that managed to scare the crap out of me,needless to say.

We didnt get the horrific storms this far north tho Anne...only a bit of rain.

The tremors also hit in northeastern PA in Bradford Co. also. The newspaper office I used to work at-posted on Facebook..she said the pics on her wall shook, as did the floor. Trees fell on cars, etc.

I have two sons who live about a mile anda half apart in Toronto. One felt it, the other felt nothing. My daughter, who lives on the riverside in Windsor felt nothing, although cherryfizz did feel it. I live just north of Toronto in Markham and felt nothing. However, after asking my neighbours about it, we discovered that those living on my side of the street felt nothing, while our neighbours just across the street did feel it. I guess the tremors follow strange pathways.

Yes, here in northeast PA it damaged a building ten miles from my house. And my daughter's office building shook in Scranton.
