Excellent. One of my favorite sayings- "Every mother is a working mother." I was a working mother with an office job, and oh, how I appreciated my friends who stayed home and would watch my kids when they were too sick for school.

I don't want to tell you what to do, but want to tell you about a regret I had with smashing plates with a hammer. I did a LOT before I read the posts here about the wheeled nippers. Now I wish I had waited until I bought a pair! I now can nip just the parts into the shape I want, don't have the lump of the "footer" from the bottom, everything lays flat, and am SOOO happy with them! "Leponitt" is the brand that comes highly recommended from this site, and they are worth their weight in GOLD once you try them. About $20-25 online. Ignore the unasked for advice if you want to though, just thought I'd share my regret! Also, I'm talking plates here, you can still smash away on vases and the like, then nip to size if you like! They also cut glass when you cut it into strips first! Maybe I should become a salesman for them!!

(This is a true story.) My Aunt Dorothy was showing signs of dementia. Her daughter Marge was recently retired from teaching and decided to move in with her Mother to keep an eye on her. Every day Marge made her Mom a lunch and she ate it. But several minutes later, she'd be asking Marge "Is it time for lunch yet?"
