You want the drawers facing out....doesn't look odd at all in my opinion...that's the way mine is

I don't like the bun feet either. They don't seem to
"fit" the table. I'd replace them! LOL you can
buy legs. lol

I would put the drawers facing the sofa. Then you
could get to your magazines, photo albums, etc. easier
when you are sitting there. I imagine the back is
finished nicely. Would look just fine. Just like
a table with out drawers.

I appreciate both of your perspectives and that you are helping me think this through. I don't think I would get this table and have the drawers facing out (It would sort of defeat the purpose of having things accessible), but if I do get it, I am concerned about it looking funny on the "back side".

have had the same c/t for the last 43 years , lol...and have always had it facing out...actually if i had it facing the safa, it would be harder to access the storage area...(mine has swing out doors)

in my case, the back is totally plain... it would be rather ugly...

i'd like the ball feet. mine is flat, weighs a ton and i can't move it alone anymore...(unless i use those moving men slides)

They are supposed to face out :o) I don't often assert I am RIGHT, but I am in this case :o)

Actually - they are supposed to face any damn way you (the sheller out of the moolah to buy it) want.

I think it depends on your room. If there's a LOT of space on the other side of the c/t...then face the drawers out. If you'd never see the other side, face the drawers towards the couch. :0) I LOVE that coffee table!!!

maybee -- I believe you! -- and that makes sense from a decorative standpoint. But not from a functional standpoint, IMO, at least not for my use (accessing remote controls, spare blankets, magazines, etc. without having to get up from the couch. Now, mind you, I am not that lazy, LOL, but having the drawers on the other side goes against my form-follows-function way of thinking). However, I want the drawers on the outside, but strictly for their decorative feature. I wish the bare side had "fake drawers" that matched the functional side :-)

No matter -- I decided I couldn't live with the bun feet anyway, and it would bug me to be decoratively incorrect -- and so purchased a coffee table from LLBean that matches my other pieces.

The back is finished, but plain.

I would think I would like a little toe space under the table, though I agree that all that convenient storage is wonderful.

If you just want convenience...do it with the drawers towards the coach, but the correct way is to have the pretty part of the table facing into the room...

Geez... you are really trying to push YOUR way!

If you don't love it before you buy it, you're not gonna love it after you buy it! The round feet bother me, too. Somehow, they look out of proportion. I have seen other storage-space coffee tables...if you are not in a time-crunch, keep shopping. Don't know where they got it, but I have seen one that has storage space on two sides.

The ball feet appear oversize for the scale of the piece. However, the height of the bottom from the floor is fine. It needs different feet, although these are practical.

The table top has rounded (or relieved) corners. This is good. I once owned a "modern design" table with sharp corners. These were hazards. I wounded my shins a couple of times on those, and they were absolutly dangerous for small children. A toddler can get nasty pokes off sharp corners and maybe eye damage. We ditched ours when began to have children and I will not let that style into my house again!

My coffee table with drawers is beautiful all the way around. The drawers face my couch for easy access to the contents. I would never consider having the drawers facing the center of the room. Who is to say one way is "right" and the other way is "wrong"? It's your furniture...arrange it the way you want it.

I wasn't expecting to have to assemble it...so, who knows how it would look when I finished as it isn't always easy to follow those directions!

It seems like if you had the drawers facing the couch you'd have to have the table a good distance from the couch to get the drawers completely open - maybe farther than you'd like if you want to easily reach something on top of the table. You could sit to one side and pull them open farther but pulling a drawer open from the side angle is pretty awkward.
