Please Show Me Your Cabinet Under Your Large Single Bowl

I've done as much research as I could find but still have a few questions.

We've decided to go with a large single bowl silgranite sink after trialing a "test" single bowl sink with the drain centered.

We're undecided as to the rear centered drain or the right sided (slightly off centered to the back). We are leaning towards the drain on the right but I want to confirm some assumptions I'm making w/o solid verification.

I'm wondering for those with a drain on the right, do you have issues with being able to rinse the food debri down the drain. I was only able to find a single bowl sink with a center drain. Though I really like the single bowl, I"m hoping having the drain to one side would keep the food debri to mostly one side. Does it for you?

With a right side drain, where did you put your faucet? Would you put it there again? Why?

Whether you have a rear center or a right sided drain, how did you configure your cabinet underneath? Pictures would be great!

Sorry, no pictures, but I have right rear drain on my sink, and I have a pull out recycler/trash can rack on the left, then room on the right for DW tabs, and sink cleaning stuff.
My cabinets are inset, and my sink is a farmhouse, so I had a really short space- 17" is all, I think.

We have the Silgranit single bowl, right sided drain in Metallic Grey. LOVE it. Moen Arbor Motionsense faucet centered, soap to right and disposer air switch on far right. If food bits don't all go down I just use the pull-down sprayer and spritz out the sink. The sink is slightly angled down toward the drain so it seems to work fairly well. I made the decision to go with the Silgranit after lurking here on Garden Web for months and I am so glad I took the advice of the many wise contributors. I had purchased another faucet but changed my mind and am so happy with the Motionsense. It is amazing... Good luck!

Ps--this is prior to the window trim going in and the cabinet doors and drawer faces being installed. We're about 90% finished with our reno. :)

jewel, I think it might be the lighting, because our Mannered Gold "in real life" appears a bit darker and richer than the Blonde, but still complementary to the Blonde. The photographer who took these shots was taking pics for a homebuilder's competition and was using all kinds of lenses and things, so color might appear a bit off, or "pea colored." That being said, I initially purchased a sample can of Mannered Gold to try in the front guest bedroom and did not like it all. However, love it in the bathrooms and foyer.

Ccfuss07 - Home Depot (supplies) and DH for the rest :). (Thanks, I showed him your comment and he loved it). Below is a link to a good thread about vertical storage, in which I link to the dividers I purchased. We found that you will need to cut these so why not build what you need in the first place? They're not inexpensive and as we retro fitted multiple cabinets, it wasn't long before DH was creating required parts. Hlove, what a fun kitchen! The cabinet is a standard height. That is, the sink is undermounted beneath the counter, and the final counter height is standard. The cabinet is about 32" wide. I can't say exactly, because the entire wall of cabinetry was custom made in the vintage style where it is all one long unit. The cabinets are not separate, and the side of the sink cabinet is also the side of the cabinet next to it. The installation was all very stressful for me because the "hole" where the sink would fit had to be pretty darn close to the correct height in order to make the counter the right height. Now, since my cabinets are painted, I did have some wiggle room. We needed to shim the sink to make it exactly the right height and levelness. The gaps all around the sink were covered with bondo (by me), and then painted. So the sink is perfectly snuggled in now. But if I had wood cabinets, my cabinetmaker would NOT have had the skill to do a beautiful job. Pictures, you say? You might be sorry you asked! Get ready for a bunch! I hope they help. i couldn't afford stacked. i had to the ceiling cabs in old kitchen with one cabinet looking stacked...double doors on single wall cab. don't be afraid to mix it up. doesn't all have to be stacked. Here is a link that might be useful: my kitch

We have a 36" single bowl with a right side drain and right side spray. We do get some food particles but it's not that big of a deal, honestly. Our disposal is off to the right, which is actually more convenient than the center since we have so much crap in that cabinet.

I have a Chicago Wright sink, 28 X 16 internal dimensions. I've only had it for a couple weeks but after rinsing pots of rice I've found the particles tend to get all over the sink pretty much on both sides. Not sure if having the drain to one side would help matters much unless the pitch to the drain was quite severe.

We have the Silgranit super single with the right drain. We also purposely put the faucet on the right side too so we could put large pots on the counter to fill with water. This also means the disposal is pushed to one side of the cabinet and gives a lot of space to the left. We do have food particles, but with a little spay, they all go down. I really like having a large area to the left that I can put a dishpan in or put some dirty dishes and have them out of the way of what I'm using the sink for. The sink itself is huge and we can put our cookie sheets, roasting pans, large cutting boards flat in there and it's so easier to clean them.

This is the drawer under my Whitehaus farmhouse kitchen sink. The drain / garbage disposal is on the left side. I have no problems with the faucet sprayer moving any debris down the drain. Love having the drawer to pull out. Good luck!
