I also wonder how it got to this stage, but I'm not average. I think I've acquired a spider sense making me sensitive and letting me suss out disrespectful or poor listeners. I would never let anyone try to sell me a pig in a poke, a slab unseen. So, I would not even begin negotiating price and delivery with anyone like that, until I figure out to what extent they are pathological liars and fraudsters or just a bit iffy. In any case, now you have to pressure them for something. Perhaps a 3rd party will make this look good. Perhaps you will get a bit of money back.

The photos don't let me see how much work it will be to put filler in them.

Fwiw, (take this with a few grains of salt) I doubt that a Lowe's person would do the laser thing to give you a scribed countertop. If you had gone with Lowe's, some lowes authorized weasel would have found a way to say at some point in the process that your wavy wall was not a big deal, and not worth getting the laser trick for, and that there would have been a big cost... Etc. Of course, I'm predicting without having any proof of anything so don't pay much attention to this comment.

Uba Tuba floods the market, and it's a cheap granite, but even so, the actual fabrication costs should run at least $40 a square foot from someone that knows what they are doing. If you paid less than that, then you are paying the hidden costs of the "bargain". If these are Chinese blanks cut to size by a low rent guy for $1200, then you got what you paid for. You just cannot hold a budget fabricator to the same standards as folks who've been in business for 30 years and charge enough to make a living for their employees. Now, if this was a 4 K job from a well respected company, your complaints are entirely legitimate and they should be happy to repair or replace the counters. But, a well respected fabricator would not have left you with these issues from the beginning.

I guess you need to ask yourself what YOU feel would be a fair response from these people. Are you wanting them to rip out the whole thing, let you choose slabs and do it all again? Do you just want some money back so you feel that the result is more worthy of the price you paid? Do you want the scratches, etc fixed/sealed? Once you know what you want, in your correspondance with them, request MORE than what you actually want so then you are in a better position to negotiate down to the level you will really be comfortable with. So if ultimately you really just want $500 and the scratches buffed out and sealed, ask for a $1500 refund(of course depending on what the actual price was, but just an example), the scratches buffed and sealed and them to purchase a plate for the sink to hide the hole and to redo the sink hole. Then, when they come back with "We can offer you x, y and z, then come back with what you really want(or maybe they will surprise you). Good luck!

Most of your photos are not in focus enough to be able to see the details. However, pits and fissures are a completely normal part of most granites. They are not considered defects at all, just characteristics that denote that it's a natural substance. You can have them epoxy filled if they are large or bother you.

The faucet location is perfectly fine. No one but you will ever notice that 1/16th of an inch. I had to look for a while before I could even really see what you were talking about, and I knew what to look for.

The scratches are the most troubling issue from your description, but again, your photos are not clear enough to say if they are scratches or fissures. If they are scratches, they can be epoxy filled and buffed. You wouldn't want to repolish the top, as site polishing will never match the quarry diamond honed smooth finish. All that would do is to create a less shiny area that would be more noticable than the filled scratch. They will polish the epoxy fill, but the abrasives that they use should not be hard enough to polish granite.

The photos are very hard to see detail for sure. Uba-tuba is generally a stone that can be spot polished on -site.
Repolish the entire piece-no way. First -off any fabricator who says a type of stone will be the same or cookie cutter doesnt know stone. Every slab I have ever seen is a unique piece period.I never call features on a stone defects but for example a fabricator friend of mine who regularly gets in containers of slabs examines each and every one that comes thru the door. He notes any marks(eyesore)(damage) with a wax marker.He documents every single feature on every slab. In your case he probably would have rejected this slab or tryed to refinish it if it wasnt resined(dyed).
To me and again it is hard to see the details in your slab. I see some marks that look like someone tried to repair the marks or scratches on the slab but couldnt match the original finish.
Maybe the slab was purchased from salvage but it doesnt look good even in the blurry pics. If the damages on the slab are not all over the place and the slab hasnt been resined a bonafide stone refinisher that is familar with polishing granite on site could probably repair this including the holes. A good refinsher will use a clear adhesive that will not be noticeable after the repair.
A color matched blob of polyester epoxy will stand out if not properly done.
Go to another fabricator and take a look at their slabs and you will see the difference. Talk to them and I think you will see a difference again. If you arent happy let your present fabricator or installer make it right.
