I don't think I've ever seen seamless mitered corners. What you have looks great to me. The limited Garden Web opinions fall to the side of too picky Limited? I didn't actually count, but I think upwards of 10 people said it looks good. Which means there are countless others that agreed and didn't bother to respond since it had already been said. Not one person agreed with you on here. How many people have you asked on-site? And remember that many friends and family may tend to agree with your opinion solely because they have no strong opinion and agreeing with you is the easier thing to do. The photos are very hard to see detail for sure. Uba-tuba is generally a stone that can be spot polished on -site. Repolish the entire piece-no way. First -off any fabricator who says a type of stone will be the same or cookie cutter doesnt know stone. Every slab I have ever seen is a unique piece period.I never call features on a stone defects but for example a fabricator friend of mine who regularly gets in containers of slabs examines each and every one that comes thru the door. He notes any marks(eyesore)(damage) with a wax marker.He documents every single feature on every slab. In your case he probably would have rejected this slab or tryed to refinish it if it wasnt resined(dyed). To me and again it is hard to see the details in your slab. I see some marks that look like someone tried to repair the marks or scratches on the slab but couldnt match the original finish. Maybe the slab was purchased from salvage but it doesnt look good even in the blurry pics. If the damages on the slab are not all over the place and the slab hasnt been resined a bonafide stone refinisher that is familar with polishing granite on site could probably repair this including the holes. A good refinsher will use a clear adhesive that will not be noticeable after the repair. A color matched blob of polyester epoxy will stand out if not properly done. Go to another fabricator and take a look at their slabs and you will see the difference. Talk to them and I think you will see a difference again. April, I would see if your city/county has a registrar of contractors and report him. This is unsafe and the tile job is terrible. He should NOT be doing remodeling homes. I would not give up and replace this at your cost quite yet. There has to be some recourse on your part because these are his errors and they need to remedied, hopefully at his cost. If you can get an inspector out there, do not forget to ask about the WATERPROOFING system. If this was not done correctly, it will likely need to be torn out. If this guy did any other work on your house, you may consider hiring another contractor or inspector to review it to ensure that other shoddy or dangerous work was not done. Editing to add: In my state, the registrar of contractors will send an inspector to review the work. They will give the contractor a chance to remedy it, at their cost.

Having tile jobs done are gut wrenching. So happy that your builder is making the correct move to remove and replace. Seems like only ten percent of the tile contractors are legitimately good. My builder prepped the tile guy who I had by telling him that I would be doing the bucket test, sliding a 5 gallon bucket across the floor and it should not catch any lips. Also, every morning I had blue tape X marks on tiles that needed to be replaced because he did not use a random of enough color pattern. The fool just grabbed from the same box and went with whatever was in his hand. Could not believe it. Good luck on round 2!
