Backsplash gurus help...Yellow River granite is in!! Is this back
Comments (47)alright, I am making progress. We are going with glass but still trying to get right shade. Yesterday I had a color called morning fog from Emser, but today I have 2 different colors. These were taken off of a mosaic type tile we did our master shower with, a set called sandswept. I went to a couple different shops today and was able to narrow down one of the colors as either American Olean willow or Interceramic Beach. Still working on the other one. Here is the one we have identified pretty much here is a comparison of the 2, one on the left I have been unable to identify, closest I have found was celedon from American Olean, and also the 2 with the morning fog posted yesterday Thoughts? I am thinking the one with the tan, khaki color would be perfect in a 4x8 or 4x12...See Moregranite is in, what do u think of this backsplash?
Comments (19)Roses - As mairin says, colors look different on different computers. I don't see the pink either, but pink would not be right with your granite. Hold the tile next to pure white to try and see its true tones. This is also where you can use input from people who can see the actual sample and the real granite. Invite some friends over to look at it; go back to the granite yard with the tile sample and ask everyone around, even other customers. Ask the tile people about the pinks - they'll have so many colors to compare it to. If you have a granite sample take it with you. Another thing you can do to check undertones in the color is get some paint chips (the cardboard ones) in pale shades of each of pink, gray, yellow and beige; also pure white. That might help you find the true colors in your tile. I agree you want something neutral (beige/grey/cream) or pale gold, but not pinkish....See More6' granite backsplash
Comments (1)Can you buy the matching "island trim" for the range? I saw that one was available for my range top - kind of looks like a downdraft vent or something. People use it when the range is in an island or sticking out with deeper cabinets....See MoreBacksplash on top of granite 4in backsplash
Comments (5)Bill has posted some pictures of this before. I found some in what I believe to be a portfolio of his. Personally I believe it can work, but I much prefer to tile the whole backsplash and did just that in our remodel. My contractor tried to get me to do the 4 inch only or tile above it, but I didn't like the look. There is one advantage to the 4" backsplash. Granite/quartz creates a very tight dirt and liquid (essentially) impervious corner where the wall and counter meet. If you use tile that corner won't be quite as straight, neat or "impervious", but I don't think it's much of an issue. - Jim Here is a link that might be useful: Some 4...See Morebreezygirl
