I was just about to post about the white Blanco silgranite sink! I have never seen a white one and I was wondering if anyone here has one and how they feel about it. I have white cabinets and Bianco Romano granite,so I thought a white sink would look nicer than SS. Did it look grey in the store or did you not see it in person?

We chose the Blanco Silgranit sink in anthracite (black) instead of the White or Biscuit color because we were concerned about white colors going together since our granite is mostly white. Sometimes a contrasting color sink looks better than a sink in the same color family. Stephmater, would exchanging your white Silgranite sink for an anthracite or brown Silgranit sink be an option for you? I was just looking at the lovely kitchen that Kitchen_angst just posted (in the thread called "Creamy, warm kitchen -- thank you GW!"). The kitchen cabinets are creamy white, but it looks like the sink is a black Silgranit, and it looks terrific. Also, now that we have silgranit, we would never go back to a stainless sink with its water spots and scratching. We love the silgranit and would recommend it highly; perhaps you just need to get a different color silgranit for your kitchen.

About "really aren't looking so good together": a body can get used to anything except a pebble in your shoe. Within a few months I got used to the two tone sink/counter difference. I got an off white Silgranit. (Use powdered Ajax or Comet to keep it clean, not the Blanco product.) Later you will wonder why you cried at all. Some professional KD's have written in their articles that trying to match tones in a white or almost-white kitchen is impossible, so build it with only a few materials so that the color differences are visible everywhere and it suddenly looks intentional and planned. (A KD whose articles are on line is Sarah Richardson; she has done a lot of two hue light colored kitchens). Go with it and even try to make those two tones the ones you end up repeating whenever you have to change materials, like ceiling/wall/backsplash/counter/drawer front/kickplate/floor/sill.
