Blanco Silgranit sink choices. Help!

I want an undermount Blanco silgranit sink because of the look and of course the practicality. I am finding it so hard to make a decision on which one to get. I will have a 33inch cabinet to work with. It will be our main sink. Any advice on the choice you made? Did you get any of the accessories? My other sink will be a quartz farm sink in white. My cabinets are traditional in style with some beadboard.

Well, I'm going for something of an early 20th century look, but an using silgranit for practicallity. Leaning towards this one:

I feel some of their more rounded shapes are too contemporary for my space. I prefer the big/small bowls over singles or equals, and the lack of symetry will actually help make up for the fact that the sink won't be completely aligned with the window above it.

The cafe brown color will work well with the granites I favor, too.

I am going to get the evenly divided one in white for my main sink. I will also get a single square one for a prep sink. I think if you have a farm sink, the square one would work for your second sink. Don't have a pix...

Hi everyone -- I'm so sorry, I let this thread get away from me after asking for a clarification! I really appreciate all the pictures of your granite sinks. I am still strongly leaning toward warmfridge's anthracite cascade sink. I don't really know why I'm so taken with the sink but it seems to be some weird emotional thing... I can just tell that's the sink I will end up buying though I can't really justify it at all; it just seems like what a sink should be to me. It's a darn good thing those who have it seem to like it, though I doubt I'd like it so much if I'd been reading negative reports. Thanks for the context-pictures.

serviceplumberman, Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't know about a rough-in sheet. I did check online the specifications sheet for the sink and it didn't give the information I need. I have contacted Blanco to ask about the rough-in sheet. For anyone else out there who might like to take a stab at this question here are some measurements. Sink base cabinet a standard 34" height. Current waste drain stub 16'' from the finished slab floor. (10'' from floor of cabinet and the floor of the cabinet is another 6'' from the finished slab floor). Sink in question is Blanco Silgranit Diamond 1 and 3/4 undermount. Deeper side is 9 1/2'' and shallower side is 8'' deep. My worry is whether I would have to lower the waste drain which I think is a big job in order for the deeper depth side of the sink to drain properly. I hate to buy the sink and have it installed under the granite countertop only to realize that the waste drain needs to be lowered. I'm trying to think through the realities before buying any product. Thanks for any and all advice!

Cj, I had the exact same problem last summer. The Silgranit prep sinks come in the oddest sizes!! I have a formica perimeter countertop and chose to do the Silgranit anthracite super single for my clean-up sink (which I LOVE, BTW.) In my island, which is approximately 3'x6', I have a butcher block top. Since the butcher block was mostly DIY, doing an undermount would've been a huge pain. I knew I didn't want stainless steel, and the silgranit sizes weren't what I was looking for. So I decided to go with a top-mounted copper sink, which I absolutely love! My copper sink, at 16"x14", is slightly smaller than what you want, but it works great for me. I've never had an undermount sink, so sweeping the crumbs into my hand or into the pull-out garbage in the island doesn't bother me. I bought my sink through The Copper Depot, which I found on ebay. Their price was good, customer service was great, and their shipping packaging would've withstood a tornado. I have a Delta faucet in ORB for my copper sink. My silgranit sink has the same Delta faucet in brushed chrome. I thought the two faucet finishes would bug me, but I really don't notice it at all. Here is an older picture of my kitchen to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Anyway, I just wanted to chime in with another option for you. The copper is very easy to maintain and looks great, IMO. Good luck with your decision!

About "really aren't looking so good together": a body can get used to anything except a pebble in your shoe. Within a few months I got used to the two tone sink/counter difference. I got an off white Silgranit. (Use powdered Ajax or Comet to keep it clean, not the Blanco product.) Later you will wonder why you cried at all. Some professional KD's have written in their articles that trying to match tones in a white or almost-white kitchen is impossible, so build it with only a few materials so that the color differences are visible everywhere and it suddenly looks intentional and planned. (A KD whose articles are on line is Sarah Richardson; she has done a lot of two hue light colored kitchens). Go with it and even try to make those two tones the ones you end up repeating whenever you have to change materials, like ceiling/wall/backsplash/counter/drawer front/kickplate/floor/sill.

I have the one as pictured above, and I have had it since our remodel for about 3 yrs. I just LOVE it. It took a little bit of getting used to from my early 90's porseline sink. But-OMG, very easy to keep clean and it looks nice all the time. Very little upkeep. I have my garbage disosal on the larger side of the sink, if that helps you. We put the soap dispeenser on that side also! LOL!

I'm getting the cafe brown, much like the one oruboris is getting, only the left bowl is curved at the top. Unfortunately I got a call a couple of weeks ago saying it was backordered for 5 weeks - worth the wait. My cabinets are also traditional, maple with a brown glaze. The brown sink will be a great complement to the cabinets. Good luck with your shopping.

I ordered the blanco silgranit 1 3/4 (one side slightly smaller than the larger size) in biscuit. The biscuit looked good with my granite choice. It goes in tomorrow! Yay, no more running out to the garage to stroke my sink!

I got the sink grids for both sides, and the custom cutting board. Since they were shipping the sink free I thought I'd let the accessories piggy back because I thought I'd eventually get them anyways! Lots of people mentioned that they like the grids so their dishes can drain and it also discourages chipping (of the sink). I am probably more excited about getting the new sink over the granite. I have a one-sink kitchen so I am definitely sold on this one. It is the first sink I have ever picked out. Good luck on your decision.
