Please - Help from Blanco Silgranit Super Single Sink Owners

Please, if you have a Blanco Silgranit Super Single sink undermounted in a 34'' tall sink base cabinet I would like to know the measurement from the center of the waste drain stub that comes out from the back of the cabinet to the floor of the cabinet. This measurement will help me know, before I purchase the sink, whether I'm going to have to lower the position of the current waste drain in our sink cabinet. I know it is asking alot, but this information would help me from making a costly purchasing mistake.

You should be able to get a rough-in sheet from the supplier free of charge. It will tell you the exact measurements that you need off finished floor.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't know about a rough-in sheet. I did check online the specifications sheet for the sink and it didn't give the information I need. I have contacted Blanco to ask about the rough-in sheet.

For anyone else out there who might like to take a stab at this question here are some measurements.

Sink base cabinet a standard 34" height.

Current waste drain stub 16'' from the finished slab floor. (10'' from floor of cabinet and the floor of the cabinet is another 6'' from the finished slab floor).

Sink in question is Blanco Silgranit Diamond 1 and 3/4 undermount. Deeper side is 9 1/2'' and shallower side is 8'' deep.

My worry is whether I would have to lower the waste drain which I think is a big job in order for the deeper depth side of the sink to drain properly. I hate to buy the sink and have it installed under the granite countertop only to realize that the waste drain needs to be lowered. I'm trying to think through the realities before buying any product.

socalusa - can you explain how your sink is mounted? jsweenc- I can't find where Blanco ever says what size cabinet is needed for the undermount applicaiton. Somewhere it said 36" exterior measurement is needed - however, after additional research, some sites say that is only for the drop-in application only, and 36" interior space is needed for undermount application. The interior of my 36" cabinet is only 34.5" and the sink is 33.5" top edge to top edge, and appears to be 30" interior bowl width. I can't find the specs for the exterior measurement of the bowl to figure how much space is left for mouting. The mounting clips are 2 3/4" long, so I would need 5 1/2" space to use them on all sides of the sink. Somewhere deep in the website, Blanco recommends using a wooden frame, but I'm not sure exactly how that would work. I hope this makes sense...how I love encountering a sink problem, after having the granite people this week say there is an issue with my island, and the carpenters say there is a problem with the steps...and oh yea, did I mention I'm almost 8 months pregnant! I thought that before I completely go off the deep end I would see what other GWer's did - lol!

Baquinn, I have a different Blanco sink, but it was large too. I have the equal double bowl undermount Performa (33 by 20 and 10 inches deep). Fortunately, my GC caught the specs and so we were able to ammend the plans prior to fabrication of the cabinet and counter. We did pull the sink base cabinet forward. Initially this was supposed to be a straight counter edge, but you can see the curve we put in to accommodate the sink. I am happy we did. I really like my big sinks. The larger sinks are another favorite thing about my renovation. I hand wash a lot of items, so this sink has made the job so much easier. On another note, everybody's renovations have their fair share of setbacks and frustrations. It's never smooth sailing. It's definitely a process and it will be complete one day and you will really enjoy it! If a large sink is a priority for you, don't settle on a smaller one just for time. There will be more than one hiccup and you want to have the kitchen you really want because you are the one who will be living with whatever decisions you come to. Hang in there!

I have 3 holes. One for faucet, soap and air switch. My sink didn't have Pre cut holes--just indents where cuts could go. The installer said I could have the holes anywhere I wanted. (yikes--another decision). So I just held my soap dispenser up and picked the placement that looked good to my eye. Sorry, don't have a picture of it. Will try to remember in the morning.

Thanks, daki, that's helpful. Your pictures outline the corner a little more clearly than the pics on their website. It is not quite as squared off as I feared so maybe I'll go with it...it seems easier to lay down a cookie sheet or a broiler pan and scrub in this than in the Cascade. thanks again.

Just heard from Blanco. All they have are the specifications sheets. They don't have rough in information sheets.

Even if the drain has to be lowered, it shouldn't be an issue for the plumber. You may have to cut into the wall, but it's inside the sink cabinet anyway.
