Seeking tea kettle recommendations

This is slightly off-topic, but at least is kitchen-related

I am on my second tea kettle in a little over a year, and have been extremely unhappy with both. Trial and error is obviously not working for me, so I would really appreciate some recommendations.

I am not asking much. I want a tea kettle that:

1) Heats water quickly

2) Whistles when the water boils

3) Does not present a scalding hazard (outside of user error)

4) Has comfortable/ergonomic design & operation

This seems like a totally reasonable list of tea kettle features, yet my recent tea kettles have failed one or more of these.

The first was a Kitchen Aid, and it didn't whistle properly, and when you poured the hot water it would start to bubble and vaporize when it hit the spout, spattering hot water willy-nilly.

The replacement is a Copco kettle. It whistles fine, but the configuration is funky and you really have to tip the kettle up 90 degrees to get all the water out. This morning while pouring water for cocoa, the lid fell out in the middle of pouring and the steam scalded my hand.

This shouldn't be that hard.

Does anyone have a tea kettle (still commercially available) that they can recommend?
