For those with dish drawers....

What is the interior height of your drawers? 8" 11"? If you use the pegboard system, do you like it or would Cushy Cupboard liners work just as well? Thanks!

My drawers are small but hold a lot. They are in a 24" stack, 24" deep cabinet, face frame and are 7" deep each.

The upper drawer holds 12 dinner plates, 12 salad plate and 18 cereal bowls while the lower drawer holds 18 each of dinner plates, salad plates, soup bowls and saucers. Mugs and cups are in upper cabinets

If you're wondering why so many - we keep kosher so have separate milk dishes from meat dishes.

We use Cushy cupboards and soft close drawer glides and have no problems even with rattling.

I'm rewriting this entire post because my link did not work. I replaced my Blum drawer runners with Heavy duty runners on my 36" drawers because my soft close stopped working & the drawer felt unstable (too much weight) when it was open. It took the installer about 10 min per drawer to make the switch. My HD runners are the 568H (110 lb dynamic weight/125lb static weight). The 568H is being phased out by Blum & is replaced by the 569H. The 569H supports even more weight -135lbs dynamic/150 lbs static. This post was edited by romy718 on Thu, Jul 24, 14 at 23:17

Soft close and Pedal to open trash/recycling drawer

Thanks for trying to help me. I honestly don't know what kind of soft close hardware or glides I have. The cabs are Thomasville. On the drawers that have soft close on them, when I pull out the drawer, the rails stay inside the cabinet box. If I want to remove a drawer, there are little clips under the drawer that I have to click in order to remove it. Like this: (pic from Thomasville's website, it was easier) "> On the wide deep dish drawers, they don't have soft close. When I pull the drawer out, the rails stay with the drawers. I bent over to look to see if there was a name on them, but there isn't. They are full extension, as are all of our drawers. Like this: (pic from Thomasville's website) "> I think that if I have to choose between the pedal opener, and soft close, I'll choose soft close. I know that it's a Rev A Shelf, because the cabinet man was just here yesterday and had to replace it. Trash/Recycling like this: (also from Thomasville's site) "> Anyhow, that is the type I have. I want to get soft close on the deep dish drawers, as well as the trash/recycling drawer. Thank you!

I have my glasses, coffee cups and tea mugs in 2 uppers, but I keep my plates etc in drawers. Best decision ever to put the dishes in drawers in the island just across from the DW. This is really super convenient when unloading! Silverware is in the narrow top drawer. It works really, really well. The drawers are the full extension, soft closes Ikea drawers (so by Blum). No need for dividers because it all fits tightly and I have used the mats Ikea sells that prevent sliding around. I would not hesitate using the Ikea dividers, though. Last year they introduced new drawer dividers and I find these work perfectly in my pot drawers to keep some small stuff (cutting boards and trivets) securely in place. Sorry, no photo of these. Dadoes, My DW was chosen for its ability to dry, because my normal loads don't hold enough heat to work to dry the European way. Even so, I have to use specific settings to get the drying. The DW isn't worth using, IMH, if the dishes aren't dry, especially since they might sit clean for a couple of days and start smelling. There are still a few pools in depressions, of course, but those don't get that put away wet smell, and are inevitable, even with angled loading. It is within the realm of possibility that a fancier, newer DW would get dried, stuck gunk off better, or maybe a more aggressive detergent, but using a minimal amount of extra water to prevent failure of what I have, works for me.

Love my dish and silverware drawers. They are 36 inches wide by interior space:

Top: 2.25 inches deep
Middle: 6.5 inches deep
Bottom: 6.75 inches deep

They are all lined with cushy cupboard.

Mine are sized similarly to loves2cook4six...We actually have 2 banks of drawers, each at 23" wide and 24" deep.

The top drawers are shallower, about 5" deep. 1 holds 25 cups/mugs, and the other houses little ramekins, custard cups, etc.

The other 4 drawers (2 per bank) have 10" of clearance, but the drawer boxes are 7" deep. In other words, I could store items that rise above the drawer box by 3". One drawer holds 30+ salad plates and 30+ dinner plates, one holds 9 stacks of 4-5 bowls, one holds extra plates and serving pieces, and the last one holds our storage containers (like Tupperware, but not).

These aren't all full at the moment, but here's a photo:
