I was hoping this was a common option. I was hoping to put my dishes in a drawer too. Hence, I bump up your post and I look forward to the feedback.

I am having custom cabinets made and I will be using a system like the one pictured below. It is my understanding that this peg system works very well and is easily adjustable.

We have wide drawers and do not bother with dividers. The Ikea soft close feature means we don't have shifting or banging inside the drawers. Our entire inventory of daily dishes is in one 36" wide drawer with not a single divider. I also have all our cups paired with paper plates and napkins in another. We have pots in one 36" drawer as well. Below that we have glass bowls for cooking/serving, all with no divider. The "Tupperware" drawer is where it really helps keep organized to use a wide drawer and nothing in there gets messy despite frequent opening and closing.

Loving our drawers completely and do not need dividers in our house. YMMV.

I looked at the Blum adjustable plate holders and may get them once my drawers are in:

I have my glasses, coffee cups and tea mugs in 2 uppers, but I keep my plates etc in drawers. Best decision ever to put the dishes in drawers in the island just across from the DW. This is really super convenient when unloading! Silverware is in the narrow top drawer.

It works really, really well. The drawers are the full extension, soft closes Ikea drawers (so by Blum). No need for dividers because it all fits tightly and I have used the mats Ikea sells that prevent sliding around.

I would not hesitate using the Ikea dividers, though. Last year they introduced new drawer dividers and I find these work perfectly in my pot drawers to keep some small stuff (cutting boards and trivets) securely in place. Sorry, no photo of these. Let me know if you want to see them, then I'll snap one.

Thanks a lot for the pictures everyone. We put the dishes in last night without the dividers and it seems to work just fine with the softclose. Will probably use them in the glasses drawer just to offer some sort of seperation between mugs, glasses etc...

Wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else out there other than the Ikea system, the pegs or the blum plate holders mentioned above.

beagles: Ikea has a version of the blum adjustable plate holders so you may be able to save a bit.

Really? We've found the Ikea dividers to be pretty useful, but we only store plates/bowels in the big drawers. They updated their dividers (I understand) so maybe they would do a better job?
