I would use pink only as an accent, but that's me. The shade I'd use would be what I would call a rose pink. The pink I've seen lately that I like...I saw it on some shabby chic bed coverlets, quilts, and sheets at Target. It's not a little girl pink. The sheets were called cherry blossom, I think. The quilt, which had my favorite pink, was basically white, I think, but had some subtle, pale, but darkish rose pink roses. Something like that.

In a condo I had about 16 years ago, I actually papered the walls in the main bath (which was my bath AND the guest bath) with a pinky striped wallpaper. It sounds weird, but it looked marvelous. The pink was....well, in the store, it actually looked sort of beigy-pink, or dull pink. Lighter stripes with darker stripes. The overall effect was a subdued color, though. Not bright colors. When I put it on the walls in that small bath, it looked MORE pink, so you may want to keep that in mind. But because it was a beigey pink, it didn't overpower me with pink. Having it all over the walls tripled the effect of the color. It actually looked very lovely, because it was so soft and subtle. Feminine, but not little girly at all. And the stripes added a sophistication.

But as I said, I wouldn't use that much pink anymore. My style now is more...well, something else. But I wouldn't hesitate to use it as an accent.

Pink wall color works well in eastern exposures.

Martha has some of the best grown-up pink paint colors around. Her old collection at SW had Ballet Slipper - truly lovely and her new collection at the Home Depot has a Ballet Slipper Pink too - chips wise the old color isn't exactly the same as the one at the Home Depot - but who knows what would happen if you actually got the paint mixed, ya know? I think it'd be in the ballpark of the original color - and it's a pretty one. . .

I'd like to try the SW White Dogwood in my dd's room but haven't sampled it yet. My inspiration photo is Phoebe Howard's pink room.

Mmmm...nice photo juddgirl. funcolors, how did you know I was looking at Martha? I had picked up some P&L chips on Xmas eve and had my Home Depot Martha chips to compare. MS seems more muted which may suit me better if I fall off the Pink cliff...
And ellendi, will ck out the BM Opal if the Ace store is open Sunday. Planned to paint and be done this weekend, but once again, indecision has crippled me.

Wait - MS Mourning Dove? Did I miss something in your LR or is this the color that you went w/ last year or so ago?

I had the Ballet Slipper picked out along w/ the Mourning Dove when I was thinking grey and pink for DD's room.

I used BM Fondant - I used it on all four walls for my
daughters room and it is LOVELY. It is a faint light pink - just a hint of pink - but it is pink. I was worried when I saw the chip because it did not look pink - I trusted a friend and after all the walls were done it was perfect. It is so subtle that you could put it in a kitchen, living room etc. and get a slight hint but it would work as it is not that over powering "pepto" pink.

The wall color is called French Bread I don't remember the door or molding colors off of the top of my head. If you like it I will go in my file & get the info.

I am a big fan of SW's "Cockleshell." It's pink, but with a little bit of brown. Not sugary, not baby girly, but cheerful and comfortable.

I don't have it in my home, but I helped my sister with a pink for her daughter's room and suggested BM Odessa Pink. It turned out very nice and might be something you'd like.

Check out Martha Stewart Pink Sky. This looks like a great neutral.

We just painted our bathroom Martha Stewart Ballet slipper pink.And it is just perfect. I have it with black and white toile but will mix in some gray as well for interest.

In the last few years I have become mad about Pink. Nothing wild or hot but a more subdued pink. If this says GIRLY, so be it.
