hello well I will do my best. 1. choose a fabric for outside and one for inside. 2. cut them to the size I want the card, and cut a piece of feusable web the same size. can use fiable batting if you want batting, but cut 2 pieces of batting(one front one back) or the card wont fold. and cottin not polly batting. 3. fuse the three layers together. 4. fold in half and press the fold rilly good. 5. I fussy cut some nice pieces from matching fabric fuse them on and do some fancy stitching, embelish with ribbon, lace, buttons, beads, glitter, what ever you like. you can fuse a piece of light solid or muslin for writing on the inside of the card but I usualy do the writing on some card stock and just place it in, that way the card can be used again by the reipient. I have been out of town for several days but came home to beautiful mail! Shirley (sjc) sent me a lovely snowflake card. I always enjoy your one of a kind cards. Thank you so much. Speaking of snowflakes, we finally got some last night. Around midnight, the rain turned to snow. We get snow maybe every four years but this was different in that it happened at night and it was blowing...a mini snowstorm....white all over the place. This went on all night. It is almost 11:30am out here and the snow is just starting to melt off the roof. Funny, people are coming from down the hill to snowboard in the hills, throw snowballs, build snowmen and frolic in the white stuff......CBS and NBC are out and about in their trucks reporting about the snow. Huge story....LOL! It is a bit nippy...temps are hanging in the mid 30's. That is cold for us!! But it is nice...very wintery! I better get outside and build myself a snowgirl........... I have sent photo cards since my oldest was a baby. I love receiving photo cards...I had no idea that there are people who don't like them! In my demographic, which is families in the midst of raising children...photo cards are the norm. People do some amazing layouts and really creative cards... It is so fun to see what everyone has come up with. I love them all. Makes getting the mail so much more exciting in December. One of my best friends and her husband are incredibly funny and creative and come up with the most amazing cards each year. Last year they did a Downton Abbey theme, but changed the name to Downton "Their street name." They and each child dressed as a character (photo shop was involved) and the whole group was photoshopped in front of the real Downton Abbey house! It was awesome! i have another friend who is so smart and wickedly funny, besides being an incredible writer. Her Christmas letter has had me literally laughing out loud with tears streaming down my face it was so funny! Who wouldn't love getting that in the mail? I love Christmas letters, even the ones that might be construed as a bit braggy....who cares? It it interesting to hear what everyone is up to! last thing...I try to put a little note on most of my friends' cards that live far away, but I never judge people who don't! We are all busy and who knows what might be going on right then. Getting a Christmas greeting in the mail is just a fun tradition, and I hope it never goes away entirely!
