I would put them in a tall clear vase.

I have lots of tall clear vessels, they are all filled with silver/gold/blue glass balls, silver bells, silver glitter stars, etc right now. You think if I just did one or 2 with pink and orange balls and maybe threw something else in there that was not at all Christmas (like what I have no clue) then it wouldn't look Christmasy?

Then if I extended that into the kitchen which is open to the dining room could I do that without it looking Christmasy?

At what point have I gone over the line and stepped into the 'oh you were just trying to use your Christmas balls at times other than Christmas' arena?;)

Can you post a picture of the ornaments? Hot pink and orange aren't Christmasy colors but can still be used at Christmas, but I don't think anyone would accuse you of making it look "Christmasy."

Do you have a plain clear glass bowl? That would be pretty and you can fix the balls where the hangers don't show.

Interesting looking at the vintage ornaments. Hot pink and orange sounds very today. Looking at those pics, though, we had pink, hot pink, light green, and blues in our now-Vintage ornaments, growing up. Traditional tree. Not sure about the orange though ; )

My ornaments are simple shiny glass balls in hot pink and orange. I have them in every color almost, I just want to be able to use them after the holidays! I don't want to put them away!

What about putting them in a cut glass bowl alone or with some non-christmasy greens (boxwood perhaps)? Or mixing them with clear glass marbles/"stones" and growing some paperwhites (narcissus) amongst them? Or hanging them from your DR or kitchen chandelier? If you have double hung windows you could hang them from the locks, if you have casements you could hang them with a pushpin.

Just have fun with them.

I was just at a restaurant a few weeks ago where the light fixtures were made out of glass bulbs. It looked like it would be so easy to do at home too. I tried to find a picture for you, but I couldn't find any. :(

To do it, you would need a round hanging wire light fixture. Then you could just use wire and tie the bulbs to the fixture. To picture it, just imagine a japanese lantern w/o the paper covering. You would tie the bulbs to the wires underneath. The ones I saw were cyclindrical in shape and so sharp. Your colors would look great too!
