Help Mirrors- see pics

I have been everywhere- home depot, lowes, bath store (too $$) , BB and Beyond, Home Place.. Help!!

looking for mirrors for my kids bathroom. I wanted oval (posibly tilt) or arch top....

Any suggestions- where am i not looking?

Ideal- 23 inches wide... 36 inches height

You have the same problem as me. I am looking for 2 mirrors 24x42. Looked everywhere, we are having to have them custom made. If you could use 24x36 that is a pretty standard size mirror. Not sure where you are located but HomeSense has quite a few oval mirrors right now in that size.

Hmmm, I found an oval bathroom mirror for the girls' bathroom at Home Depot. Can't remember the brand. It is frameless and it has clips on the side, to tilt (very handy for kids, as they are short - for now!)

JuniperSt - we moved into a home with a very large great room also - overall size: 29Ã¢ÂÂ² long x 27Ã¢ÂÂ² wide. I actually ended up submitting the space and dimensions to Ballard Designs design team and they came up with a space plan for me with recommended pieces. I did select a couple of their pieces, but mostly wanted the space plan. I thought they did a great job. Instead of the dining table and console I did bookcases along that wall (where the console was suggested) and did two chairs with a table between in front of the bay window. You could submit your space to them and get some ideas that way - it's free! I did find the key to making the space work and be intimate was to define different spaces. This is also a major walk-through, so needed to be mindful of that. Oh, btw, our tv is huge - it needed to be in order to see it from the sectional. There is a lot of orange wall here, and that is a bid problematic for me. First of all the expanses of orange are swallowing up the FP. Putting an orange painting over the FP makes your eye skip over it completely. I would concentrate on trying to make the FP the hero of the room, and the walls the supporting characters. Here's some ideas that may help in that regard. 1. Place a large item on the hearth, perhaps something brass because it's shiny. like a screen -but I am seeing a tall brass pot. Allow the top of the fire place to have a more continuous flow to the ceiling and create more vertical thrust, like placing tall candle sticks on the mantel. Use no art above the FP or small wall art, like a mounted fish plaque, a textured ceramic plate, or something in greys and blues that will accent the orange walls. 2. The walls and wall art on the sides needs to be tamed a little. Consider hanging these orange hued paintings together. Place a table, chest, or short bookcase under them. Move those pieces a little closer to the FP, so they become part of a tableaux. Make a conversation arrangement around the FP, and if there is too much open/ blank wall space in the corners to the left and right of the FP, deal with that in other ways, besides trying to hang a single painting in the center of the wall that is suppose to 'hold up' the entire expanse 3. even though you have wall to wall, you can still lay a cozy throw carpet in front of the FP.

Sorry to disagree with Pat: I also think putting both pots in front of the window is a shock. I would have left them between the windows where you had them to begin with. That corner was too dark for jades. They like lots of light and will grow much better in front of the window. Unless they were in very dark conditions for a while and are moved suddenly into very sunny spot (I do not believe that is possible in winter, in Michigan), there should be no problem. Moving plants into strong sunlight from indoors could cause sunburn, and plants should be acclimatized. I believe Steven meant moving the plants from place to place - like from a store, where it sat for a while, to a house...Some plants will respond by dropping many leaves when location is changed (ficus Benjamina is known for doing that). Personally, I do not have that experience with jades. And I move them around a lot.

Assume moving the lighting up would have been to make more room for a mirror? Perhaps your light could be remounted with the lights facing up? I’ve seen that as an option in lighting store displays. If you did that, it changes the “height factor” for the picture and shelf. I’d suggest getting the mirror up first, and then play with the shelf and picture placement. Also, what is your mirror frame going to be? Wood? Metal? No frame? Yes, mixed metals are “in”, but you have a darker metal on the shelf support and on the updated lights, a chrome faucet, and knobs that are? look like a brassier tone and perhaps a bit more dated looking? A different faucet and different knobs would give a more updated look. But get the mirror and light figured out first.

Saw one or two similar, oval and maybe an arch top, 24W as I recall, in Sears' Hardware store (not the main store).

I have been shopping around for an oval mirror that tilts. You might consider the Gatco Franciscan mirror. It is sold by several on-line retailers.

Should i do the standard slab mirror that goes all the way across or am i just compromising?

Try Pottery Barn and/or Restoration Hardware. They might be a bit more expensive, but the quality is usually good and they are good with returns/exchanges.

I used Gatco Tiara large beveled mirrors in the bathroom in my previous house. They tilted and are close to the size you want.

I like the idea of arch-top mirrors for a kids bath, or one large framed mirror.

In my area local plumbing stores carry a good selection of mirrors.
Look at the tilt mirrors carefully before deciding on them. DIL had one in her previous home and I was never crazy about. Because of the way it extended off the wall one could see behind it easily and for some reason it bothered me! :(
Also, over time the swivel became loose and it would only stay in the one, downward position.
