Cute. And if you have a spot for it, sewing room chest, guest room chest, etc., it would be cute in your colorful house. For a micro cart, it looks too tall. And for my area in California, unless it was perfect perfect perfect, for your home, and going to save you money from buying new, it's too much money. I would have expected maybe $50.

Too tall for a microwave cart....too much money. It's kind of ordinary. Looks like any other 4 drawer chest. I'd wait to spend my $100 on a piece that made me say WOW!!! Like that silk striped yellow & blue chair for $40(on another thread) or the little lamp table Red got for $35. Those pieces just say WOW! This one does not....

It's nice but I agree with nicole, not a WOW...but if it's wow to YOU...then go for it, but offer $50 (or even less)

I disgree. I think it's very cute - the hardware is adorable, and it would look awesome in your house. I think that while it's taller than a normal microwave cart, there's no reason you couldn't use it as a micro cart if that's where you have a spot for it. And yes, I do think $100 is kind of high, but if it's been on there for a few weeks, I'd offer $50 and see what they say. You could even offer by email to save yourself a trip if they're not willint go bargain - just say you like it, but you only have $50 to spend -- the worst they could say is no.

I like it and can "see" it in your house. You will find a place for it because it could be used in many ways.
I do think it's too expensive. I agree, start at $50.

He11 yeah. You can get old dressers at Goodwill for ten bucks. Or even obtain one free as a curbside find. Paint it Robin's Egg Blue yourself. The hardware on the CL one looks like it was painted with silver tone paint which not only cheapens the look but diminishes the value.

I realize that CL prices vary regionally, but no way its that dresser worth $100.

It is nice, but not uncommon, and it appears from the pix that not only was the dresser painted, but the hardware is painted as well. Maybe $50, tho I would be inclined to say less. For sure you should see it, check out the inside, how the drawers glide, etc.

I'd probably pay a $100 for it. But I'd change the hardwared to a darker color. You could even put something like that in your living room!

Number one it's not solid wood. Furniture from that era is veneered and being that it's painted any imperfections in such veneer could easily be hidden. A agree that the hardware, though it does look original, is painted. As it is, I'd pay no more than twenty five dollars for it. But since I'm a bit cheap, you may think of going 35 or 4 dollars.

Make that last 40 dollars not 4. Opps!

Thanks all! I still think it's really cute too, and I would probably pay $100 (or close to it), if only I could find a place to use it in my house. As it is, I've stood in every room in the house and thought about this piece from all angles, and I just simply don't have room for it. I should really just stop looking on CL completely, but sometimes I see things that just really spark my fancy. ;-)

Jen, I feel the same way. In fact I rarely look on CL anymore. My side of the garage is full of furniture I bought to redo and I need to be able to park in the garage before winter hits. As it is now we'll be closing in the screened in porch with visqueen so we can store the furniture there for the winter or until I can find the time to work on each piece which will be before spring and I want my porch back!

Prices really vary - I live near one of the poorest counties in PA, and have paid about $100 for good solid wood dressers at "goodwill" type places. Both I had to have stripped, but one was a mission-style solid oak, the other solid maple with a pretty, curvy front. If you are near enough a big city where you get "dealers" stopping by, that keeps prices on good stuff from going rock-bottom. You'd have to check out that piece well in person because its painted - and I agree with others to start around $50. But I do think its cute - you'd have to have a place for it though. I don't even think you can get a new dresser at Target for even close to $100.
