Seconding momj47. If you get small enough cup pulls for the top drawers, they may well be too small and cramped for your fingers. Additionally, your fingers will continually hit the finish and will wear it down.

Oh my . . . I think this constitutes as my first kitchen renovation mistake. If I had thought it through I would have done a slab drawer front for the top drawers like you did Mom. Damn!

Maybe what I'll do is put crystal knobs on the top drawers and then cup pulls for the bottom drawers.

Any opinions on this idea or photos?

I knew that I would make a mistake or two . . . so I'm not too upset. Hopefully this will be the worst thing that happens.

Oo..oo...oo, you could use glass cup pulls on the bottom drawers and matching acorn knobs or mushroom knobs on the top drawers.

I found these a couple of years after my kitchen was done, and I love them. I'm still thinking I may replace my ORB pulls with these some day.

I just saw your post on the Linen white thread. My cup pulls were an option with my cabinets, so I'm not sure what the name of them were. I found these online and they look just like mine, and the measurements are the same. I have 3 inches of space on all my top drawers.

I have the same problem with my cabinets, don;'t know what I am going to do, but thinking I may use the cup pulls on bottom and matching handle to appliances on my narrow drawers. What is your thought of this idea?
My cabinet came with the pulls and knobs but I dont like the knobs. Go figure

I like the idea of the the glass knobs mixed with the cup pulls. I almost did that. You will find that there is no right or wrong. Just make sure it looks good and works well. Don't drive yourself crazy over it.

Momj thanks for the suggestion but, although I like glass cup pulls and glass knobs, I have a different vision. I really like shiny polished chrome hardware. Positano your photos are deceiving. I would never have thought you have 3" on your shallow drawers for hardware, especially where you have a four drawer bank! Peyton I think our best solution is to either put drawer pulls or knobs on our shallow drawers. Unless, of course, we can find bin pulls that come in appropriate sizes (smaller for shallow drawers and larger for deeper drawers) with enough depth to be easy to grab onto. Sigh. I am getting tired of all this and can't wait for it to be over. Today they are finishing the demolition so I still have a ways to go.

Have you looked at finger pulls? They look really good with the bin pulls, IMO.

o.k., this may be a dumb question, but can't the pulls go on the inset portion of the drawer? I was actually planning to do that with both the cup pulls and big bar handles (the framing of the cabinets is just a bit too narrow for both).

btw, restoration hardware makes a pull that's not very high, but comes in a multitude of lengths.

Ruby, finger pulls are something to consider. And Beth&Kevin I haven't seriously considered Restoration Hardwares pulls because I can't really see them well in their photos. They take their photos at such a weird angle. They also don't provide the dimensions. But I should look into it. Thanks for the suggestions.

what color are your cabinets? Very pretty.

I found these images and the top drawers look just as narrow as yours (looks like they cheated a bit by placing them "book cneter" (a little higher than dead center on the cab inset)):

2 sizes of narrow bin pulls: large is 1 1/4" tall, med is 1 1/8" tall.
