Knobs, bin pulls, long pulls, help!
Comments (9)I agree that you shouldn't use bin pulls on doors. I think it would be awkward to open a door with a bin pull as opposed to a knob or a regular pull -- especially uppers. Use the cobalt blue glass knobs on your doors -- the combination with the bin pulls and your granite sounds beautiful! Also, IMO, you should use two bin pulls on any drawer that is 30 inches or wider, and/or where you have two cabinet doors below the drawer. I used three different kinds of hardware in my kitchen: bin pulls, suitcase pulls and knobs. The pic below shows all three. (The suitcase pull is on the trash pullout). Also, on every drawer 27" or wider, I used two pulls, with each pull centered over the doors below. Good luck!...See MoreShow me your drawer cup pulls!
Comments (4)Mine are different because they're frosted glass (coolknobsandpulls, great prices). Neither of these pix show the pulls terribly well:...See MoreCup Pulls or Regular Pulls?
Comments (24)We've had cup pulls on all our kitchen drawers and I find them very comfortable to use. Our kitchen is transitional/contemporary and the pulls we used fit very nicely with that style, IMO. There are a great many styles of cup pulls - some are very retro and others are more sleek and modern. Ours are very smooth and we chose a large size which I think makes them more comfortable to use. I've seen some cup pulls that were formed from sheet metal and the edges of those where too thin to be comfortable for me. Ours are cast so the edge is comfortable. Whatever hardware you choose, I'd recommend getting samples to try first so you can see if they are comfortable to use. The cup pulls in the catalog you linked to look like their edge might be a bit too squared off for comfortable use. We haven't had any issues with them getting dirty. I'd be more concerned about the difficulty of keeping pulls with groves clean....See MoreCup Pulls: Knob on 5 piece TOP Drawer Vs. Using Slab Drawer?
Comments (21)My cab maker said our top drawers will be 4 3/4" and with rails there will be 1 3/4" space in between for hardware. Springroz has 3" space in between and Christine has 6" drawers with 3" in between. That could be the difference. Out of our 26 drawers, only 8 are small top drawers so maybe I should do slab on those. Looking back I do like the look for the top drawer. I was just "scared" that without a bead they may be too plain but I think with everything else that goes on in a kitchen it will probably look great anyway! Just making sure with cab maker all the top drawers are 4 3/4" before I make a final decision : )...See Morelovlilynne
