New and need help selecting a paint color

Hi all...have been lurking for quite some time getting great info during the building of our new home. It is now time to ask for some help...

I need some help selecting a paint color for my kitchen.

We have dark brown (I think its stained mocha) maple cabinets, natural hickory wood floors, stained trim (early american) and New Venetian Gold counters. The paint will go on in a few weeks and the painter needs my selection. I don't have the sample of the granite so its hard for me to try to pick a paint color without it. I have seen many pictures on here of others who have NVG and their paint colors seem to work great. If any of you who have NVG can chime in with some suggestions I'd really, really appreciate it!

I don't have this particular granite and it is so hard to suggest colors without pictures of the room but my first thought was decatur buff by BM.

We are redoing the paint and stain on the entire exterior of our house. We have old Chicago Brick and and new dark gray roof. Looking at using Benjamin Moore paint and TWP 200 series for the stain. Would love ideas!!

I think the cabinets are beautiful, and the layout looks decent, though the stark white walls and ceiling do not compliment them at all. The backsplash doesn't seem to go well either (on my monitor). I would replace the ceiling light fixture, paint the walls and ceiling a warmer color, and live with it. As megs said, live with the kitchen for several months before making a major investment - if the layout just doesn't work for your family and lifestyle, and you want to redo the whole thing, you're farther ahead if you didn't spend $5K on painting the cabinets. There may be other things in your "new to you" house that take priority over a cosmetic change to a pretty kitchen.

any Blue will compliment the orange tone of the brick.They are opposite on the color wheel. I would be creative with the panels in the garage door and entry door. Two different blues in the same family. with a bit of white as a highlight contrast to make it more contemporary.

@elcieg This is a very pretty colour! Definitely in line with the trend we are seeing in Toronto but slightly different with the moody blue vs black/grey. Thanks for your input. I really like this idea!

Thanks for the responses. I did try to search but not much came up.
We are using decatur buff in our master bathroom so I was hoping to do something else in our kitchen. I may have to switch my bathroom choice if I don't find something soon though.

I think I found a paint color from SW that I like...sw 7680 Lanyard. Now I'm just not sure about the granite choice. I am going back and forth between NVG and Giallo ornamental. Decisions, decisions...
