Love the changes so far! I vote for the white and blue ikat! It's funny bc I am just about to put a reddish/brown tone on the walls, and you just got rid of your red. Makes me rethink my color choice....

Ikat is my choice. It has a funky liveliness that the room needs. Love what you've done to the room. So lovely.

I love the ikat as well. The chair seats is a wonderful place for this pattern since, if you get tired of it, it's easy to change!

I also love the change in wall color; your furniture looks so much more elegant and doesn't fight with the wall color.

I would look for something on the order of that smaller trellis pattern that pulls out that deep wine in the rug.

I like the smallest, lightest grey trellis fabric. I would get so tired of the bolder prints.

What happened to the swag and jabots you had before? I'd think those would look great with what you have. I really like the new wall color.

My vote is for the small trellis fabric. It sort of echos the curves of your chandelier and the chair backs. Did you change the finish on the chandy? Very pretty!

I also like the white and blue fabric, I think. Would help to see bigger sample to see how the pattern would fit on the chairs though. Can't go wrong with either of the grays either. Depends if you want the chairs to stand out or not.

Yes, definitely curtains. I love curtains. Especially in a dining room. I think white or ivory silk would look great. Something similar to the color of the moldings and below chair rail.

gobruno - thanks for the feedback when I know you're busy with your own DR transformation. Love the new chairs and trim in your room!

franksmom - The chandy is ORB. In the Before pic, I used a flash which made the wallcolor look brighter than IRL and washed out the chandy. It's a hard room to photo as it's full of sunlight on a nice day. Today, it's overcast but still light, so I got photos with blinds open/no flash. The swag and jabots are in storage in the basement. The liner is light blue and doesn't match the room but could be changed.

yayagal & deeinohio - the indigo ikat has a beige background and is the one I'm leaning towards too. I know it will make a dramatic statement, but needed validation that the pattern on top of pattern would work.

grandmaof3 - the fabric samples that look gray are actually light beige and very neutral. The larger patterned beige one is my husbands favorite but $10 more expensive per yard then all the others.

lindac - i love an honest response and can find new fabric choices if needed.

jillinnj and arapaho - thanks for the kind words. I need to figure out how to attach the fabric pictures from the Lewis & Sheron website. The trim is BM Simply White and the Lily White silk swatch from Half Priced Drapes is a very nice match.

I definitely would not go with either of those blue prints. They're going to scream, "Look at me!" in there where everything else is subdued. I think they clash with the rug as well. I'd go with the smallest print or keep looking. Curtains would look pretty in there.

I do like the ikat fabric but would be a little concerned if it would clash with the rug as well (I'm not so good on mixing fabrics so really don't know...) Could you get a small piece and cover 1 chair to see if you like it once complete?
I also like the smaller print (option 3 above).It would blend well with the wall color, but if you're looking for more 'punch', maybe keep looking for a few other options.

i like both the ikak and the larger beige patterned fabric... but, i would probably go with the more neutral choice because i don't think i would want my chairs to stand out so much and be the focus in the room.

i would also hang a window treatment of some type...either what you had or something that covers the blind tops... i don't think i would like panels too much with the wood blinds-- i think a cornice would look very sharp!!!

None of the above. The smallest pattern competes in scale with the rug; some of the other choices don't seem to go with the rug.

If you wanted an ikat you might try something with less blue and more beige.

I like the larger trellis pattern. The tones in the ikat are all wrong. It also does not look good with the rug.
The smaller trellis would be my second choice.

The larger trellis pattern #4 is DH's favorite. The squares in the pattern are close to the Weimeraner wall color. It's richer IRL and the pattern is raised and has a sheen to it which looks quite elegant. This is the most expensive fabric ($29.99/yd and 10 chairs to do) but may be the way to go. It's a safe choice.

I haven't given up on the idea of something with navy. The wall color enhances the navy in the rug and I'm loving the two together. Trying to get the right shade for the chair seats is proving more difficult than I thought.

Have you checked the price with Osgoods? I've found them to be cheaper and they usually ship quickly.

I think the repeat of the Ikat and the octagonal blue would be too large for the size of the seat. I like the other two, in particular the larger trellis pattern. Depending on the size of your seats and the width of the fabric, you might be able to get three seats per yard.

I would not add drapery, as I love the inset window, and I think the drapery would hide that feature. What I would do is go back to a valance but something tailored, like a covered cornice that hangs just below the crown moulding. Your overall feel of the room is formal, so I would look for a more traditional fabric there, perhaps a toile or paisley, that has navy and some of the taupe of the wall color.

First off, I love, really love the wall color. It makes the whole room look very elegant and shows off your gorgeous moldings and beautiful furniture.

I'm not really in love with any of the fabrics, but the large trellis would be my pick if I had to choose from what you have. I think both the blues are too much "off" from the colors in the rug. You don't have to have a perfect match, but those two just aren't doing it for me.

I'd love some sort of panels or something on the windows, but I'm also someone who really loves fabric.

Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find something you really like. Again, the room is really coming together.

Love, Love, Love, the changes! It looks so sophisticated now. Love the wall color and how is plays up your furniture and trim. I preferer both trellis patterns. They are soft and sophisticated just like your walls and furniture. If you want a punch of color, you can do that with flowers or accessories. Your look right now is classic, something you will never grow tired of. Definitely do some drapes to frame your windows, but I'm thinking something in silk. Something shimmery in cream or a subtle tone on tone pattern. Please show us pictures when you're all done!

I agree that none of the above is the answer. The trellises all seem too clean and too geometric to work with the rug, and the ikat is ....I'm not sure, maybe too large. Plus none of the sample colors seem to work well with the carpet either. They seem to provide too much contrast.

About the curtains, I think you need them. The room has a definite formal look, and to my eyes, the window as it is now looks unfinished, but not in an intentional way. What you do with the window might depend on how you feel about pattern. If you want to limit patterns to the carpet and chairs, then one possibility might be curtains in as close to the color of wall as possible. If you want more pattern, then how about the colors in the carpet?

I don't think white, ivory, or cream curtains would work. I think they would give the effect of three walls in that interesting gray (?) color and then one big white wall. That would be too modern for your look.

I also think you do need curtains rather than a valence or swag. Reasoning? There is a large expanse of white blind, and the blinds look contemporary. If there were an array of other contemporary elements in the room, I think they'd work, but there is a soothing "stillness" that comes from your furniture, accessories, and color choices. So the blinds look jarring and out of place. I think they need the softening effect of full-length curtains.

Sigh. It's always so much easier to give a critique of other people's spaces than to finish any of the rooms here!

I like the third one you posted in your swatches which was the one on the bottom left on the chair. Looks like hourglasses kind of. I really liked your before dining room but LOVE your after! :) are you planning on doing accents of Navy Blue and silver? it appears that way with your candles. I'd love to see a navy table runner or maybe some art work that had silver or navy in it. I would pick a more neutral chair fabric that way you can change out accent colors easily if you get tired of them
