need a good creamy white benjamin moore color to paint cabinets.
Comments (36)Lucretzia, it has been about 5 months and so far, so good. We also have a dry bar adjacent to our dining room and the granite guys forgot to seal it! We got red wine stains on it right away...it is a bar after all! :) I managed to get them out with bleach...thank goodness...and hubby ran to the hardware store to buy a sealer and we sealed it right away. We also spilled wine on the island (which was sealed) and it wiped up easily...no problem. So, I assume as long as it is kept sealed, we should be ok. Not only is our granite honed, but it is also pitted in some areas. It is pretty cool and we get lots of positive comments about how unique it is. The only problem so far with the pitting is when my 4-year old daughter paints at the bar, I have had to use a little brush to get paint out of one of the "pits" already. No biggie, but if the counter was polished, it wouldn't be an issue at all. We had polished at our last house and it was super easy to keep clean. That said, I would do honed again in a minute. It really suits our space. I think as long as we maintain the sealer on it we should be fine. The good part is due to the movement of the stone, even if it does get a stain, it will probably blend right in! :)...See MoreWhich Benjamin Moore white for my cabinets?
Comments (15)I've been in White Sample World the past week as well. I think I've decided on Dove White, as my kitchen gets western afternoon light (which is warm, right? So I want a cool white to mellow it down...am I correct in this?). But I'm having all the trim and windows repainted too. Do I use the same color on trim in kitchen, even thought it will differ from what is in the rest of the house? I have not looked at Chantilly Lace (or it's pretty face...) yet though, so I will have to add that to my mix. Sorry to hijack the thread...I just thought since people were already thinking about the issue this would be a good place to ask....See MoreBenjamin Moore off white kitchen cabinet paint
Comments (21)linelle, color is so affected by everything around it. On the advice of an artist neighbor, we started painting our ceilings Marble White instead of white. Makes an amazing difference in how the room looks. The ceiling still reads white but it just warms things up a bit. Ahhh, color. So complex. I especially love the colors that change with the light. I like BM paint because they have a lot of those complex colors that do that. By complex, I mean colors that can be pushed in different directions depending on light and surroundings....See MoreBenjamin Moore Cloud White close match to Kelly Moore Pickett Fence 46
Comments (13)Patricia - I'm not looking to match an existing color in the room, rather want a Benjamin Moore paint COLOR but for Cabinet Coat (Pro. painter said to pick a color from Kelly Moore). Lori - Thank you for the detailed info. We are getting our (South Faced) kitchen cabinet painted. We have Cloud White (OC -130) on the walls, and looking for a white/off white color for the cabinets. Something that is not to stark, too yellow, or too pink! Some of the folks had suggested we match cabinets to the shutter colors (two windows in kitchen), however we prefer not to as it is an older K.M. paint color (Western Acoustic) which has a lot of yellow in it. We did swatches, and the best colors are Simply White /OC-117 and Could White/OC-130, with Simply White being the nicer of the two choices. However, since due to the base of each different paint manufacturer, paint matching can be a hit or miss, the Sales Reps (with over 20 years of experience. at K.M.) said that Pickett Fence was a close match to S.W. Main- Thank you for that info. It's extremely helpful. Will pass on the info. to our paint guy....See MoreBunny
