Thanks for posting Christine. We are really mixed on it, now that it has dried and set for a couple of days. Oldest son feels it is too baby-boy nursery blue, and daughter said "well it was the best of the 3 colors you offered me." I see what they are saying. I was hoping for a spa-like feel and well, you all know. You're more up on the trends than me. Husband had to install the cabinet for granite templating tomorrow. I could still paint but if I do repaint, he has requested I get it done before the granite itself is in, which gives me until Friday AM. Am going to go to the guy who's good at Benajamin Moore tomorrow. It is a longer commute to go there than some of the other paint companies. I will try to get a pix up early tomorrow AM. Hosted houseguests and Easter dinner. All good stuff and my kids got a chance to hang out with some close family friends but I'm a little tired.

I do like the grey and navy, but maybe not so close together. If you were doing grey lower cabs, I think that'd look great with white counter/navy backsplash. But I like the white counter against the navy tiles, even with white cabs. Happy renovating!

Imalm53 - I usually avoid offering opinions on color because its so subjective and personal, and because monitors affect what you see. But yours is one of my favorite kitchens. Plus I appreciated the step-by-step granite install photos that you posted awhile back. So here goes . . . I agree with some of the previous posters that bold colors would detract from your beautiful cabinets and granite. But I LOVE the colors of your accents . . . burgundy and yellow. Those are the colors of my kitchen. Sort of a mustard yellow on the walls with a burgundy rust on my window soffit. I love it for me, but I dont have the dramatic cabinets and granite that you have. (Its not done yet, so I dont have photos. ) I do like your idea of putting color on the fireplace wall. Hows about putting your burgundy on that wall, with your yellow on the mantle trim. Then using a softer coordinating color on the rest of the room. Then pulling those colors into your window treatment to tie it together. I was going to try to do a mock up but my monitor is playing havoc with the colors (getting mauve and some strange yellows). I just did a search and saw Benjamin Moores Pottery Barn Collection. Looks beautiful . . . at least on my monitor. Can you imagine doing some combination of this? LOL! Punamytsike, don't ever worry. If I'm not "feeling" the advice, I just don't take it! No hard feelings. It's funny, though, that you say that, because the minute I got it done I thought, "Blue toile wallpaper would be stunning in there, and would pull together all of my blue and white pieces that I have all over the LR. I even did a mockup of it: However, for now, I do like the green. You're right that there's no other greens around, but it's so subtle (in person, at least) that it just acts as a neutral. Plus, once I get the decorations inside tweaked a bit more, you don't see as much of it. I ended up refinishing the writing surface last night, too. I put the green cubbies back in, and I really, really like it (for now, at least!). I like that the green is just a little bit of the unexpected, and the secretary has that "changed over time" look. I also had another toile wallpaper in reds and golds, that *would* totally tie into the LR, but it was just soooo predictable. It looked lovely when I held up the sample, but it just didn't seem to have any personality, IFYKWIM. If I ever want to change it, it'll be a small job to paint the cubbies black, but for now I think I'll leave them as-is.
