Can't find the right Beige / Taupe! HELP

I hope I can get some advice on this one. IÂm having such a hard time finding just the right shade of beige-gray paint color for my bedroom.

IÂm looking for a shade of beige with gray undertones. It seems most colors I come across are shades that have green, yellow and purple undertones.

Out of all the colors I looked at, only found 2-colors that are close to what I want Â they are BM colors:

Cotswald (too dark)

Hot Spring Stones (too light)

I want a color that looks like this, but my bedroom does not have a lot of natural light.

Why canÂt I find something in the middle? Do you think BM would mix the two colors for me? IÂm at a total loss!

IÂm feeling frustrated. Anyone else have any suggestions?

(BTW - what's the difference btwn beige and taupe?

I would look at the colors on the Greenbrier beige strip. I have the BM color deck in front of me. There are several that look something like your inspiration pic. A few are Elmira White HC-84, Grant Beige HC-83, Manchester Tan HC-81 and Coastal Fog AC-1. They all fall into the beige gray category.

With all of the built ins, this is actually a MUCH smaller room than it appears to be, and that you are trying to arrange furniture for. And that is why the furniture feels crowded. Crowded, not cozy. The desk and ladder visually blocking the door makes the space feel like there is no room to walk. That may not be correct based on your comments, but it is absolutely the first thing you notice and it sets a tone for the room. The hard lines of the large beautiful desk make the only spot really suited to it in front of the windows. It overwhelms the space if you want comfy seating too because it doesn't leave enough room left over for anything but a small loveseat or oversized chair where you have the desk currently. And the large sofa overwhelms the space if you want it as a more officey area. There isn't room for both functions because of the built ins. You've got to pick one large piece to embody the main purpose here. Either the large desk or a large sofa. Not both. Both don't work with the available floor space. Unless you switch to a small scale writing desk and a smaller scale sofa, and maybe not even then. No extra chair at all. It's already too densely populated. And I agree with the others that the ottoman is visually too bulky and casual for the room. If you choose comfy seating as the room's primary purpose, then I'd choose a sofa that had a matching ottoman to keep the visual clutter at a minimum. All of the different books when they go in will up the noise considerably and you want to try to minimize that effect.

Hi Seajay! I am glad to see you are making progress! It is very rainy here today on the Gulf coast! I have a contractor remodeling our master bath right now! The soak tub has been converted to a walk-in shower. And the old shower is being framed as a closet! They have been here since Tuesday, and they are almost done today! Yay! Buy 95-96 and have someone take in the the few inches. I sew and its a quick job. If thats not a option then maybe use the non sew tape method in link. I've never used it the tape but I see Pinterest post of lots of non sew curtains . It seems sewing is a lost art Good luck! How to Hem Curtains Without Sewing (sewingmachinebuffs.com)

Need more context. :) What is your decor style? Do want backs or no? Budget and how many? Do you have kids? Is the kitchen open to other rooms, and if so what style furniture do you have? Lots of possibilities, but it’s a guessing game without more info.

I used a color that looks a lot like that pic in my living/dining room. It is a Glidden color (we had it matched in BM paint) called Scroll Beige. The online color chip looks a *little* bit darker than IRL (on my monitor, at least):

It really is a nice blend of grey and beige, or "greige" as those in the know supposedly call it :).

I used Ben Moore Revere Pewter on the suggestion of a designer I met at the paint store....Here it is at 100% strength (it's a touch lighter in person)....and used it at 1/2 strength in the other rooms....I really like it...

BTW, if you like the Cotswald, and think it's too dark, tell them to lighten it up by 1/2 or 1/4...

I actually bought some Revere Pewter and it looked very light ash gray in my room - Not at all the same way it looks in your pics ((insert big sad face)) I was so disappointed because I really thought I found THE perfect color from looking at your pics. I love your wall color!

Greenbrier Beige is a Benjamin Moore color. On the same color strip you will see some of the other colors. Ask at the BM store for the colors you want to see and they will find them for you. Easy peasy! Although if Revere Pewter is your inspiration, than take a look at some of the SW colors I linked to.

Oh no! I feel badly it didn't work out! It's all about lighting...looks different in every space...

ABSOLUTELY get it cut in 1/2 or maybe 1/3....they do that for you on the spot and give it to you on a card...

You don't have to buy it!!! Take it home...see if you like it...and then go back and get it!

We're using BM Litchfield Gray from their historic colors. It's a taupe with gray undertones. No green or yellow undertones at all.
