Thank you guys :) ...I really need to get out and weed/clean-up, but my attention is more on my girls right now...They will be leaving in a little over a week to go back to Illinois, so time is precious...My son will be home from Iraq in Dec, so then they will all be together as a family again. Barb...That flower is Cosmos Sweet Dreams. Elizabeth...The Agaves took and the bigger one has put out two little babies around it :) Shawn...That is Coconut Lime ech..I love it. Susan...Glad the daylilies are doing good for you..Want some more??...And ya, I can't wait to get the Miss Anna brug..My daughter, Anna, thinks thats pretty cool. Joyce...I've got lots of the newer Ech's and the only one I've lost is the Tiki Torch...Not sure why...Most of them I've gotten in the last couple years, so we'll see how they grow...So far so good :)

Ahhh, lynn...it's been so much fun looking at all your Halloween/Fall decor! Again, those "boots" on the mantle that you posted awhile back...they are so-o-o cute...and that pumpkin you chose is perfect for the fireplace box! Finishes it all off! But like some others have said, your idea to cover your original art works on the walls is so unique & works beautifully! I love your 1st pic...so Halloweeny & fun! My fav pc I haven't seen before is your "pouting ghost" ...reminds me of my littliest GS (when tired & mad) who was here this weekend...can certainly be a charmer with some of those faces...& your lil' ghost is a charmer...ceramic keepsakes pay off! And I love the wine cabinet...so that you have everything at your fingertips for using! The stemware is pretty & the added clings sure fit in right now! He used to live down in Albuquerque and give readings of his books for the school kids and parents. I lost track of him when they moved to New York, but he was a nice guy. My all time fav is his Halloween book, though. Another book we love is a beautifully illustrated one of Robert Frost's "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening". It's always been one of my favorite poems and I was thrilled to find this illustrated book. I took pics of Our Halloween tablescape last night, but will add them in another post. Lynn

Hello Everyone, No one shares my vision that the white would work, that doean't surprise me. However when I look at the third pic above (the pic of the eat-in dining area, there is a sample of white glass tiles on the counter. I think it looks great! It looks so bright and fresh!) I'm not into neutral, I like contrast and I like color. My cabs are obviously traditional, but my syle is moving more modern. I'm trying to take my traditional looking kitchen and move it more modern. buffetgirl - I really don't like brown! LOL! I am trying to work with a situation where "If I knew then, what I know now", I'd do things differently. I've thought about brown instead of black in the backsplash and it doesn't do anything for me, I don't want more brown, I want less brown. Sherrman - while others like it, I don't. It is floor tile and not designed by me. The tile installer picked it and I went with it at the time. Also, due to the new granite, there is about a 1" gap between them. Annz - not changing any of the big stuff, cabs, floors etc. Just can't cost justify it. House is only 5 years old, We built it. We have about 39 sq feet of backsplash to do, Dh and I are discussing the balance issue that you mention. Yes, I want to make sure that it will look good. Thanks for bringing it up! Busybee3 - all green? Well...I thought about that...but just feel that it would be too much green. My walls are green, my countertop on the island is green...I just thought an all green backsplash would just be too much green. Plus I really like the idea of bringing over some white to brighten and de-neutralize the space. Auntjen - Oh...I am so happy that you think it will work!! I don't feel so alone! LOL!!
