There is this one from JC Penney, only in black and white, and it is about 25" tall versus the 19" WS jar. It is on sale for $99, down from $160:

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, you might check there. They always have a wide variety of ceramic decorative jars.

For sure Pier 1 and Hobby Lobby both have those leaves in silk. You can also check with your local florist, who can order them for you.

This is not as big and is blue instead of the one you referred to, but affordable.

Don't forget to check out Home Goods. They seemed to have stepped up their inventory now that summer is almost over. The lamp looks very similar to some that I have seen there.
I know you can find a similar vase there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I also thought this would be easy and have looked high and low at all these stores. I live in the Chicago area and though a quick trip to Home Goods, Steinmart or any of the others would lead me to the ginger jar.....nata!! Then, I started on the internet, everything thus far is $150+. I really didn't want to spend that.

Guess, this will be one of those 'finds' that when I stop searching for will eventually find. Thanks everyone!

The leaves look like Bird's Nest Fern. If so, what a waste of a beautiful plant (one of my favorites). Love the jar. There are a couple of blue and white jars (not quite the same shape) called "Happiness Pots" on the Wisteria website for a good price.

Have you checked Amazon? Do a Vase search and I bet something like a ginger jar shows up. I needed a vase to hold some twigs in, and I wasn't going to spend a lot of money on it.

I found this on Amazon and I immediately fell in love with it. I believe it was under $50, or just a tad higher.

It's 10" H x 4" w, so it may not be wide enough for you.

That CAN'T be too hard! There were always a few for $39.99 or less at our local World Market.

Even though I know 'Ginger Jar' is the proper term, I looked on eBay under 'Chinese Vase' and found quite a few -- though most were smaller. I'd try every variation of that (Oriental / Japanese / Asian and Vase, Jar, Urn).

And if there's a 'Chinatown' district near you, I'd head out shopping there as well.

The size and shape of that jar looks very, very similar to a pair of lamps that I have in storage. You may want to look at thrift shops/goodwill to see if you can find an old lamp that you can re-do into a vase.

Mine are probably from mid-90's. I no longer have the color scheme of the lamps, so rather than toss them, I put them away for ???. But,you have now given me an idea on a way to re-use one or both of them...

Actually, I believe this is a temple jar, not a ginger jar. Different shapes, from what I have seen.

Also, you havenÂt said for sure that it must be red. Is that the case?

Maybe with a few modifications the lamp on the right could do the trick. Unless of course you are looking for something similar to that print. I know you said you're in chicago but maybe something could work out if you really like it and the price.

You can buy the plants at most any nursery which specializes in ferns. It is a birdnest fern, and I have several of them
They love humid environments, and are great houseplants.
There is a link below to an article describing how to grow them. And here is a picture of one of mine, having a shower on our deck during a heavy rain. It is the front left plant, other thick-leaved ferns in baskets are the staghorn ferns.

The framed print is, of course, something by JJ Audubon, or other similar artists of that era, and you can get those at all price points, all sizes. Then, of course, the white coral is pretty generic.

I get tired of looking at dispays I create....so I currently own 2 large urns....paid.....drum roll.....$8 each for them. I'm gonna say the H word....Hobby Lobby. When they have one left of an item in a collection they mark it waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down. Too good to pass up! If I loved a piece I'd spend money on it...but I just haven't run into THAT piece yet.....
