Finalliy had a chance to go to the Great Rug Co, in Houston, who is a dealer for Stanton. I ordered three samples that I really liked. My little room is approx. 14 x 12 and a at $45/yd it would cost almost $500 plus installation. Isn't that pricey? I have never shopped for carpeting (it was always in wherever place I lived) so have no idea.

I'm having fun in PS with all your samples/pictures but what a conundrum :o Do you like blue? On my screen I see blue in that beautiful leopard rug and of course the dusty French blue goes great with the wood you chose. Do you have blue elsewhere in the house? Looking at the sample laying on the rug, it's the bottom row, third from the left. Personally, I stay away from colors that tend to look dingy or dull so I would want to go bright or darker...darker stair cases are usually more dramatic (around here). I see a lot of these stair runners or carpeted stairs. My husband cuts (has them bound) and installs countless stair runners. Yesterday's job was supposed to a runner but the customer changed her mind and did a full coverage of her staircase. This is what he installed 130 yds of so it wasn't just the stairs (not the actual house). Good luck. Can't wait to see which color you choose.

It’s not the penthouse. Those are on the 21st floor. The listing says its the only duplex in the building. It has floor to ceiling windows with east and south views. I won’t go into the description of the two kitchens, because, well, everyone should check it out for themselves. The unit has some hardwood floors as well as wood paneling with moldings. It has central air, in-unit washer/dryer and one covered parking space. The listing says this is the first time this unit has been on the market. If they moved in right away, that would be 61 years. The owners in this building seem very loyal. In 2012, Chicago Magazine had a story about the two penthouses and talked to Schwartz’s widow who still lived in one. I did that in my basement playroom over a very uneven vinyl tile. we have it glued doen without a pad because of flooding concerns. it's been great. kids like it, you can put a softer rug on top if you want, and when it gets wet it dries fast with a fan. it's comfortable to step on, not cold. it also looks nice. I'm happy we did it and when it got ruined in construction, (They flooded it in the summer and let it sit for 2 months) we did it again.
