Vote Please: Foyer Chandy, will it work? (Hurry)

I have a brass colonial light fixture from the 80's in my foyer. It is rather small, but so is my foyer. I really want to change it to something new that fits with my style. I found this chandy, I love it, I'm not sure if it is something that can be used in a two story foyer.

We need something that is modern, but doesn't look too modern (if you know what I mean). This chandy I found is from Restoration Hardware, it is 28" wide, the light part is 6" high. I think the crystals in it give it the traditional part that I need, but the light itself has a modern edge.

The plan for the foyer is to be a lighter gray with a dark high gloss ceiling.

Let me know if you think this will work, and I'm on a deadline, I need an answer soooooon. Thanks

The foyer as it is now, and the furnishings will probably be updated, so don't really look too closely at them:

or would this look better (33.5" wide)?

and not to bore you, but this is what the renovated areas look like, so you can get a feel for where I'm going with the decor:
