The Company Store comforter cover

My comforter is 86" X 86", so I ordered size "Full". I'm think the extra 6" I'll be tucking under the mattress at the bottom of my bed anyway (have a footboard); but I wonder if it's going to be a tight fit otherwise. I really like the color, been looking for a gold patterned cover. Plus, I sent a check for $78, it looks like there's more of a sale if I had purchased online instead out of the catalog? But then I got free shipping because my item was over $75.

I've bought towels from them before, and they have lasted for years, but never bed linen.

Figure out which is cheaper - online or through the mail. If online is cheaper then call Customer Service and request an adjustment. I've found them to be very accommodating.

As for the size I think it should be fine. Their cover is 86x92 and unless your cover is really thick or overstuffed it should work.

I should have checked the catalog before I posted, $78 WAS the sale price for the comforter in "full"; so with free shipping it's fine.

My Company Store down alternative comforter (6yrs old) has been great. One of the best purchases I ever made. I started using them after I picked up some CS flannel sheets from a neighbor who was moving to Arizona. They were several years old then and were better than even my Lands End flannels. They are still going strong and I have purchased more. One thing I like is the ability to order items individually rather than in sets. I like to get a king top sheet for my pillow top queen so that we have plenty of material and don't have to fight for covers on a cold night! And extra pillow cases. I've concluded that they offer good value because of the durability (and great value if you buy on sale).

I have several sets of flannel sheets from the Company Store. I order them when I see a pattern that catches my fancy, that matches my bedroom style. I cannot say that the quality is any better than the ones I've purchased from Land's End over the years, but the patterns are what draw me to the product. That said, this year, I was incredibly disappointed. I fell for a flannel print and ordered a queen duvet cover and a pair of pillow cases early in the fall (my experience has been that you have to get in early or lose). Well, I still lost. They kept delaying the date of shipment and delay delay delay only to call me right before Christmas and cancel the order altogether. Not like I ran across anything else that I passed on to wait for theirs, but good luck to you if you order from them. seagrass

I am from england and a duvet to me means the fluffy down filled blanket an the cover what goes over it. As other ppl have said u can get different weights of these duvets an it wouldn't matter how fluffy the duvet is as long as it's the same measurements, the cover shouldn't rip as long as it's a duvet you are putting in it. The fastenings usually go at the bottom of the bed basically for cosmetic reasons and also I have found when fastenings have been at the top I tend to somehow end up with my arms inside the cover! I also don't like feeling the fastenings when I am trying to get comfortable. Not sure if that helps but that's how we do it here.

I agree that it looks like a duvet, but you could always use a comforter. JCPenney has nice solid colored duvets and comforters. I notice alot of comforters are reversible with a tan one side, another color on the other. The cover was delivered today. First off - the gold color is much lighter than shown in the catalog - much lighter. Actually, the shade goes better with the other colors in my bedroom though, so it's ok. I thought it was suppose to be 98" long, making it 6" longer than my comforter. Well, to me it looks as tho it is more like 12" longer. Weird, but I'll let that pass too.

I put it in the washer and dryer, boy there were alot of wrinkles when it came out of the dryer. Sometimes those will smooth out eventually after it's on the bed, will have to see if it's true in this case. However, I had to fold it and put it away until colder weather; maybe I'll need to iron it? ugh.

natal, we started a conversation about this comforter cover on someone's thread; so I thought I'd better continue it here. The question was how soft the material would be - it's soft but crisp for the time being.

I ordered towels from the Company Store and they also were much lighter in person than on the web site. Not only a slight shade variation-- I thought I was buying dark colored towels and these were a medium-light color. I let it pass because the lighter color worked, too, but I was sort of annoyed.
