My 2 cents- 1- I like the idea of framed mirrors above the vanity, however, for me, that time/opportunity has passed. The existing mirror is not an inexpensive item, it'll be heavy/difficult to manipulate, & won't you have to match the wallpaper EXACTLY after you expose the drywall? 2- I recently saw an episode of Divine Design on HGTV where Candice O. was dealing w/ a room that had the drywall boxed in - I think she referred to it as a bulkhead. Anyhow, she did a great job in leaving it and adding trim to make it really handsome. Just a thought - not for this room, but for other rooms in the home you may tackle, as usually if they have the bulkhead in one it is throughout (kit & baths). Back to the original question regarding what to hang on the walls- I vote you scavenge second hand shops or Craiglist and find an antique mirror -- something w/ shape and detail - then paint it black or white. It would give your eye somewhere to rest (amongst the small pattern). 4- I'm not a fan of fake foliage, however a small, tasteful "potted plant" (fake or real) on the back of the toilet would be nice. Perhaps a black metal container w/ green foliage that goes more towards lime/light green rather than dark green. I love the toile and the fact that you minimized it w/ the beadboard paneling. I'm jealous of your situation!

If the box with the junction is still there, the plate needs to be there so the connections are accessible. Yes, the only way to do it would be to reroute all the wires so the junctions could be made in boxes elsewhere. The only mays to mitigate this: If this is the top floor there may be accessibility in the attic that you could "flip" the box over and leave access there. You can paint or texture or whatever you want to camoflauge the plate as long as it stays removable.

That tiny fixture is not going to give you enough light. Is it a full bathroom or just a WC and sink? The problem with a single fixture is that it will become a glare bomb if it provides enough light. What about a semi-flush mount with a drum shade? Paint the ceiling white and then it will bounce some light off the ceiling. This one has an adjustable stem, I believe, so you could play with the height. Or you could try something light this, but I fear you'd get a lot of pattern/ shadow. This one is Ikea. I also have an illuminated mirror from SimpleHuman that just needs to be recharged once in a while. It's extremely helpful for getting light right where you need it. And yes, that paint color is absolutely sucking away any light that you do have, so changing that will help. Good luck! It's a pretty space. I think I have the same faucet!!

I got the cabinets through Home Depot (20% off) they are not higher end but they have held up extremely well and we’ve been happy with them. I don’t remember the brand, but the color is cognac on maple. They’re standard kitchen cabinets. We got 2 regular drawer banks, 1 extra wide drawer bank, 2 sink cabinets and the closet you can see in the picture for about 1800 w/the discount. We bumped the shower wall 6 inches into the bedroom to make the shower bigger, pulled the cabinets out from the wall a couple of inches to provide more counter top. And curved the edge the counter for interest. Just for fun, this is what we had to start with. The tub was rusted and there were two doors, 1 from the hall & 1 from the master bedroom, we closed up the hall door. I think we got our moneys worth. LOL As for the labor, I found my Contractor through a plumber I had hired to put in a kitchen faucet. I asked if he had someone good he could refer and he referred Matt to me. Matt had his own company but just him and his guys. All of his work was by word of mouth, he didn’t advertise or push for business, he didn’t need to. I think I got fair pricing from him because he didn’t have the overhead a lot of the larger companies might have. He wasn’t the least expensive and he wasn’t the most expensive. Finding someone who was willing to work on our schedule and not having to have it done ASAP is what really helped me to be able to keep our costs at a minium for both labor and materials.
