Converting 2 zones of electric (and heat) from a multi family

I am looking to buy a home that was once a 2 family. The previous owners converted it into a single family, but there are still 2 seperate heating systems (MLS listing says one is gas, central, and other is oil) Electricity for the home is also in 2 zones. To me, it would make more sense financially to convert this system into one meter for each utility...Otherwise I am assuming I am paying 2 bills each so that is extra tax and delivery supply charges 2x from each company. There is no chimney, so no immediate way to look into alternative heating (like pellet or corn) to solve the heat problem. Electric still would pose a problem. Otherwise the house is perfect. Does this even sound like a problem? I am a first time home buyer. Any ideas or advice would be MOST welcome before I go further with this house.

(also posted in the heat forum, hope that is ok)
