Choosing blinds/shades for brick ranch-view from street side???

We are getting ready to change out the 1" aluminum blinds in our 1968 brick ranch and I need input on what you all think is most visually compatible with the style of our house from the outside. I can narrow it down as far as what is required functionally from there. We are in northern Indiana, country subdivision, with our house sitting approx. 90' from the street. Our brick has a somewhat rustic appearance, is irregular in shape and has varied colors. We were told it is considered "Chicago Common" brick. Our roof line is typically low for a ranch. For instance, I feel that mini-blinds are too visually "busy" viewing from the street on a brick ranch, and I'm not sure that 2" wood blinds would look right with the architectural style of our house. Some brick ranches in our neighborhood have sheers & drapes, which look nice, but isn't really us-too formal and traditional looking. I prefer a consistent look all the way around. All ideas are welcome.
