No fail safe that would need to be reset kicks in for that, it just shuts down. It resets after you open the door. I had a big comforter drying one time that restricted the air flow and caused this to happen. So I tried it, and I closed the cold water inlet to the washer. Hi, I would recomend going for the higher 1,000w dimmer. They do cost about twich as much however and I only found them on the net. The critical thing is heat dissapation. When you look at a dimmer, they have metal tabs on either side of them. These tabs dissapate heat. You can also run the dimmer at a lower rating if you remove one or both tabs. You may have to do this in order to butt the dimmer up against the other switches you have in your light control box. Also in general running a dimmer at a lower rating means more longevtity, so you should not need to replace the dimmer as often. Best, Mike.

These would have to be housed in a weather enclosure of some sort or inside your outdoor panel if there's room....inside the garage would also do the trick if that works for your setup. These RF systems use your existing home electrical wires to send the signals to any X10 dimmers/switches in and around the home to turn lights/appliances on/off and dimmer control. All from the palm of your hand with an RF remote that works through walls and does not need line of sight. Their standard package has 16 channels for control of 16 different devices from one remote. The key fob package below only has 2 channels, but you can upgrade to a handheld remote that has the 16 channels and expand your X-10 devices as needed....pretty cool! I use a lot of X10 devices around the house including the home theater as well. They also come in handy for outdoor X-mas lighting, blow-up outdoor holiday figures, etc. They are easily programmed...just select the same channel on the remote and the appropriate X10 device (dip switch selectable on each X10 device) and they are paired automatically. If you want to put your hands on one of these to see what they look like, Fry's Electronics carries an assortment of X10/Smarthome devices. The only trick to using dimmers on a three way is that only one switch can be a dimmer. That is unless you buy the fancy frequency controlled matched pair dimmers. As far as your fan goes, there is no reason that a three way switch would cause the fan or light not to work or the dimmer that came with it. If there is power to the fan from one of the two switches, it should work. Do not however, us a dimmer wired into the three way circuit to operate your fan. It will probably work, but you will usually get a slight hummm.
