Thank you Bonnie.. Magpie...you are toooo funny! I can see them on your Mantel and they'd be real proud up there. I agree with the graphics on the old stuff. That era was really special with lots of special things. Today it's mostly 'Horror' stuff. but then again...Different Strokes.. As far as finding it all... over the years mostly on the Cape in the summer those little shops there have real neat stuff and reasonable too. As far as arranging them...I've always had a eye for decorating...Runs in the Family... When I was working at my school, I wore 'Many Hats.. Teacher and 'Decorator' for the School. From school openings to Holiday Events... that was the most fun. Karen...so nice that you liked my tree. Really... I am lagging..so many of you - steps ahead! If you were 'My Shopping Buddy'...we'd be in BIG TROUBLE!! and probably Homeless!... but we'd have a Grand Homeless Place!! lol As far as you gettng 15 - 20 kids.. Out here I'd be happy for that! At the local school, they have what's called 'Trick Or Trunk'. People register to come into the School Parking Lot..they decorate their car trunks...and have their Halloween Candy in there. All the kids parade around the parking lot, going from car to car for candy. They do this because it's so rural. Nice idea tho. You should NOT have passed up that skeleton and wreath...see I would get you in trouble! I hope they have it next week. That shop sounds like something I'd really like. Lucky for you getting those cloches..that's something I haven't seen here. I'll be looking forward to your vignette. syble... That was a great buy for that paper mache jack-o-lantern. You'd never find one for that price here EVER. I did shop at Hfabrics in FL. I loved that store. Sadly, many of them closed. They did have really nice things and the best sales on their Holiday things. I think that's such a nice tradition that you do with kids and parents where you live. He used to live down in Albuquerque and give readings of his books for the school kids and parents. I lost track of him when they moved to New York, but he was a nice guy. My all time fav is his Halloween book, though. Another book we love is a beautifully illustrated one of Robert Frost's "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening". It's always been one of my favorite poems and I was thrilled to find this illustrated book. I took pics of Our Halloween tablescape last night, but will add them in another post. Lynn

Jan, I love the hayracks, too, but they have to be mounted to a flat surface with screws. No way around it because they are not made to accomodate over the railing brackets. On the back, the top horizontal metal piece is shaped like this _________^_____________^__________. Those 2 little blips up are what you screw under. (I've worked in garden centers so got to know some of the types out there). Just a note - Boston ferns don't do well in full sun. Your picture looks pretty bright. I can't tell if you have trees in the front, but without shade, the fern leaves will be nicely browned by July. Plus, they aren't hardy for the north central zones so us northerners need to treat them as annuals unless you bring them indoors over the winter. I hear what you are saying about covering the brick, but if you have small/medium shrubs in front of the railing, you'd have the variety of a bit of height and the brick. Ideas for shrubs that do well in both the Twin Cities and Chicago so they should work for you are: Spirea - can be trimmed to stay lower hydrangeas - Endless summer don't have enough growing season in our climates to get huge but they need shade potentilla - yellow flower barberry -both a cranberry and a green/yellow variety alpine currant northern grown viburnum (Emerald Triumph) ninebark - The Diablo species has a maroon/green left with red flowers. I have 2 on either side of our back door. Will get taller and would work at the left corner of your house lilacs - again taller so would be better for corners You could also go with sedum as they can stay in place over the winter but add a bit of height. What part of WI are you in? Anywhere near Hudson or Hayward?

History of recipe[edit] The green bean casserole was first created in 1955 by the Campbell Soup Company. Dorcas Reilly led the team that created the recipe while working as a staff member in the home economics department.[1] The inspiration for the dish was "to create a quick and easy recipe around two things most Americans always had on hand in the 1950s: green beans and Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup."[1] In the 1972 version of the Good Housekeeping Cookbook the recipe replaced the cream of mushroom soup with sour cream.[2] In 2002, Reilly presented the original recipe card to the National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio.[3] This was during the time of Jello molds and I believe that it was considered "fancy".
