Need Help! Perfect Master BDR Color? What's yours? Post pics..pls

We are switching our master bedroom to another room and I have a blank slate that I have NO idea what to do with.

It is a mid size room and I believe it is South facing and my furniture is cherry.

I love warm tones (especially orangy cinnamon colors) but I am not sure if I should go Bold or Calm?

Thanks so much for your input as I am so lost!

I have cinnamon/terra cotta colors in several places in cluding the MBR/MB and foyer to MBR. Here is a sampling. The colors are all Olympic from Lowes but done up in BM Matte. sorry about the spots on 1st pic !!

Ours is Lincoln Cottage Brown - Lowes color, mixed in BM paint. Sorry, no pic yet - digital camera is giving me trouble!! But, it is a brownish/plum color and gorgeous (to me, at least.) I never would have found this color if it weren't for a forum member just throwing out the idea of it. I hunted down the swatch, fell in love. So, it is possible to find that perfect color from a message board!! Keep looking!

I didn't even see the smaller pictures load before thinking Hah -- the colors I was thinking -- and moving on (they were tearing out my tile floors today -- sneaking any internet time during the day was a treat). Looking closer, the walls appear gray on my screen too, and that works too. Looks like one of what I initially saw as two shades of blue may be one grey and one blue. If you don't have the bedding and that's what you want, get it and then it will be much easier to pick a color from it or inspired by it to work with everything, especially since it has a touch of yellow. Has some beige too, but they are compliments to the cooler colors.

100 square feet is a good size. We just remodeled our new home to make two bathrooms about that size. Will there be medicine or linen cabinets inside that space? If you rearranged it there is room for 20 square feet times 6 feet high. Where is the shower door? You might be happier with 48x48. 36 is enough as long as you have 48 on one side. With 48x48 you could have offset faucet(s) so you don't have to stand under the shower head(s) when you turn them on. Will you really use the tub? We just sold a house with a Jacuzzi tub. The buyers ripped it out immediately and replaced it with a standard tub, because the Jacuzzi was too high to reach over to bathe their toddler. We used the Jacuzzi once for each of us when it was installed. The novelty of it immediately wore off and we only showered in it for the next 10 years. What I don't like about your design is that every time someone is using the sink, if someone else comes through the door, the sink person is blocking the entry. You have plenty of room, so why not move the entry door to the left a foot or two? Also since you have plenty of room, make the door at least 36 inches wide to allow for future handicap access.

This one I made for the bed using a combination of sheets, satin ribbon and some very pretty but somewhat expensive printed quilting fabric. The ribbon conceals the raw edges so I could make the most of the patterned material - the shams and horizontal rows for a queen size took nearly the full yard and then I made a decorative throw pillow with pleating to hide that the print material used was the scraps, raw edges also concealed with ribbon. Leftover ribbon as the ties (not shown) at one end and internally keep the duvet inside from moving around/sliding out and bunching. Our sheets are blue solid, teal solid, and gray solid - all 400tc and under $45 a set at target. I have a white and gray comforter left over from when we staged our previous home also, however...the dog sleeps with us and I could have told the stager the futility in buying any soft home decor/furnishing that is mostly white when one has a dog. Even with washing. I have tennis balls that go in the dryer with it to keep the poly fill from being lumpy. Eventually it will become the dog’s comforter. The kids room has two bunk beds (for up to 4 kids) and solid blue comforters, sheets are blue solid, blue stripe, and blue dots (I bought a variety of patterns in a dozen sets since sheets and kids both have to get washed really often and sometimes you have to throw out a set of sheets.)

Trailrunner, love your bathtub and transom window! Mustangs, what a gorgeous comforter and bedskirt . . . and bed! I can tell already that this is going to be a fun thread to follow.
Our MBR has creamy white walls (Mt.Ranier White). It faces south and I like that it's fresh and bright in there Spring, and Summer, but yet warm and cozy in Autumn and Winter . . . although a different kind of coziness than if the walls were a darker color.

Oh wow I love you guy's bedrooms ! Don't you love having a fireplace. Lynn? We have one on the wall opposite the windows. There are 3 of those windows in the room . I love the way the color on the walls changes as the time of day progresses.

Mustangs. the green is Thyme. another Lowes Olympic color in BM matte. Not to hijack but here is more of it. it is our kitchen color. I can get away with the rich tones with these 12 ft ceilings :)

Looking forward to seeing it. Do you have a rug or art work that will drive the color? Drapes? Other adjacent room? That is how I always get my color scheme. Glad you posted :) c

A friend of mine has cherry bedroom furniture with BM Soft Fern walls. If you decide on 'calm', that would be a possible route. Her room looks very pretty.
