Yellow and beige are very close and would be hard to pair. I was going to suggest a green or blue and then looked at your bedding. Try a blue or green along the lines of the lighter shades in the bedding or lighter versions of those colors.

In the third picture on the Garnet Hill Blooma page you'll see the room with blue walls and I think the yellow would look wonderful with all the colors in that photo. The blue appears to be BM Whythe blue but it might be the next one up from Whythe. Check them out.

If it were mine, I would use a gray similar to that shown in the Garnet Hill picture, ( except perhaps a shade or two lighter), that shows the bedding in a finished room. Gray is a very calming color, and being used often in current decorating schemes. It would also look great with the yellow cabinet.

Yaygal, on my monitor that wall is definitely a gray, not a blue. The difference is apparent when comparing the blue comforter folded on the bottom of the bed or in the curtains, which are blue on my screen.

I also think a gray might work well.
As suggested by nanny2a, Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray is a nice one and maybe also take a look at BM Wickham Gray.

I didn't even see the smaller pictures load before thinking Hah -- the colors I was thinking -- and moving on (they were tearing out my tile floors today -- sneaking any internet time during the day was a treat). Looking closer, the walls appear gray on my screen too, and that works too. Looks like one of what I initially saw as two shades of blue may be one grey and one blue.

If you don't have the bedding and that's what you want, get it and then it will be much easier to pick a color from it or inspired by it to work with everything, especially since it has a touch of yellow. Has some beige too, but they are compliments to the cooler colors.

Check out the paint colors on blog I linked below. Her house is very different from your design direction, but I think Ashwood by Ben Moore, used in her LR and Reading Rm could work for you. I just put it in my bedroom and it works as a beautiful neutral. In my room, it reads almost a blue gray, but in some lights gray, and one day I saw the putty green gray she talks about in her description. It would make a nice backdrop for your pretty yellow cabinet.

Everyone is so helpful! So we live in the Pacific NW and I'm worried that a really gray wall will just "bring the outdoors in", but not in a good way. :) Is that a valid concern? I'm thinking maybe a blue/gray would be better, if we go the gray route. Any suggestions on a good blue/gray color?

Nanny2, I am having cataract surgery tomorrow, bet the next time I look at that pic it will be the gray color lol. I still think a blue would look great. Just take a look at the one I mentioned, get a swatch and put it on my comforter and see how it goes.

I'd consider a green color from the bedding and make sure you have contrasting white trim. I think a bedroom can be done to be cozy and does not need to be very bright.
I spend most of my bedroom time in the evening. I am in it during the day to put away laundry and such. You do need one spot that has decent lighting for when you get dressed and need to coordinate colors.
If dh and I sneak in the bedroom during the daylight, having it bright is not a concern, lol....

That bedding has so many pretty colors in it and the yellow cabinet will look great in the room. But as others have said, beige is not the most complimentary color to use with yellow.

I think a light blue, green, yellow or grey would look great with that bedding and the cabinet.

I would find a warm neutral gray! I love yellow and gray....think it looks beautiful :) good luck!

Maybe more blue or green, less gray. Look at Healing Aloe, Colony Green, Soft Fern, or more neutral like Edgecomb Gray (a warmer gray) or Titanium.
