quick question on wiring for new RANGE

We are replacing a 20 year old range in our kitchen. I checked, our range has a three prong plug. The dude at Sears said that I could reuse the pluge or get a 4 prong plug and have it wired in. He also said units back then required 30A (?) and newer units need 40. He said if I did not have that service it may or may not work depending on if I am just using the oven, just one burner or all burners and the oven.

I opened my fuse box panel. I know the house is 200A. The two fuses marked: RANGE are connected together. They each have a 50 stamped on them. I have no idea what this means. Does anyone know if I am covered for the new range or if something else needs to be checked?
