I did this for several years. Not sure what grocery store, but they had a complete kit with the bamboo mat and also the seaweed, and can't remember all the other items. Made our own for quite a while. We got hooked when we went visiting on the coast and ate it for the first time about 15 years ago. We have moved to the coast and can find it at most restaurants now, and also have a friend that makes it all the time and loves to share with us. Hopefully you have a speciality store in your area that has all the supplies. When we were making our own the store also sold the smoked salmon for sushi. Good luck in finding the items. We love sushi.

Wonderful work. I can create beautiful hand embroidered or cross stitched pieces but I surely cannot sew with a machine. I would love to learn how to quilt or sew to make beautiful items like Flamey's or Sandy's. I still use the book jacket cover and the bag holder you made for me. Everyone's pieces are beautiful.

Nope. My life hasn't changed much. I value my personal space anyway so I try to keep my distance from people naturally. And we dont go many places in normal life. We like being home with each other. I do need my roots done and my ends cut, but I keep my hair long anyway so having it longer than normal isnt an annoyance to me. I am looking forward to people being less on edge and less rude in general when the restrictions are lifted. And I am looking forward to being able to buy stuff I need when I need it,not when the hoarders run out of money.

Rho, I have seen those really expensive machines, and I know that ,beyond a doubt, there are not enough garments or anything else that I could produce in one lifetime to warrant the price of those machines. Just to buy the thread for the embroidery function can be prohibitive. And, I really don't believe that there is any more pleasure to be gotten from them, either. Also, many times, the machines that offer fewer functions are really the best. I wish that I had, maybe, just bought a new sewing machine instead of a serger. Now I sew with my old mechanical Bernina with a backup of an old Singer 401 from the 50s the was my moms and that I learned to sew on. All I want is old school. So much of modern life suffers from what I call "style over substance, and, the style sucks". So, where does that leave the substance? The form is not pleasing and the function is even worse. Much of it is a lose/lose affair, in my opinion. It has become difficult to find just a well made somethingortheother. So many things come loaded with functions that you never knew you needed or wanted and still don't need or want. It is all about upsellling things that are really of little value.
