First Time-Need some advice
Comments (14)Sorry did math wrong she was pregnant in April of 2007 and broke up with him in March, we started talking at that point I was there just to help. She has told doctors, friends, and myself she didn't know she was pregnant for 5 months she has/had edimetrous(spelling?). Like I stated nothing happened between him or I till Decemeber of 2007. She called him in August saying she was pregnant at that point she had been with at least 2 other men. Yeah, I think it is a sticky situation with her. He is the baby's dad because she said it was his/his commanding officer advised him to get a paternity test before putting the child on Tri-Care. The BD is the most honest person you will meet she (BM) even agrees, along with responsible. I am not questioning his character because he didn't run from his responsibility he took charge and told her straight that he would be there for the child and her if she wanted him back. Like, I stated above she didn't want him back and also assumed he would run like some guys do and that she would be a single parent like her mom. She wanted that, she didn't want him to be a part of child's life. He took her to court because she was denying him the right to see his son. I am here just to see if I can handle the bm for the rest of childs life till he is 18yrs because the father will be in his life and yeah he is paying and doing what needs to be done! He just wants her to do something too as well. So I ask you not to attack him but yeah give me advice as how all you stepmoms have been so strong and powerful and loving towards you stepchildren whom you also view as your own without letting the other parent bring you down. Also how you women handle the men in your life while being a mom to your own biological children. Thank you for your advice and yes I am listening to you all. Life is tough but I am grateful for having this forum to express my concern. I would never be with a man who walks away from women or leaves or cheats or goes from women to women. I have been raised to love myself and respect myself if a man can walk away from responsibility who says he won't walk away when things get tough with me I agree. The man I am with is not that man!! So, I ask you just to give me some suggestions on how you all cope, endure, and love. Thank You!!...See MoreShould it go or should it stay- utensil bar?
Comments (16)Rebecca, Localeater, and Suzannes: Thanks for your suggestion to live with it a while. Kksmama; I did do a Houzz search on hanging utensils and it was a big help and gave me some ideas of what to hang and how it looks. I bought a few things at my favorite discount store and hung them up and it does brighten up the area. Mgoblue: It is good to know you liked the one you had. I will give it a try. I think cleaning items once in a while in the dishwasher is a good idea. The hard part is cleaning the tile and utensil bar hooks. My husband has been using the egg separator I had hung there a couple weeks ago and it's quicker than looking in a drawer!...See MoreNew craigslist chairs - should they stay or should they go?
Comments (23)Thanks for all the responses. You have given me a lot to mull over but alas, not a consensus! You all seem about as evenly split as my thinking has been! If it's any help, here's a pic of the new chairs with the pillows and throw from the other chairs. My pillow and throw selection is a bit lacking, but it might give you an idea. Not sure the throw and pillows help. I do think that the new chairs are a bit more sophisticated than my decorating style -- the New York City apartment is a great comparison (as I studied the pictures I posted, I was thinking they looked like something Emily Henderson would put in her Hollywood-rich-people makeovers.) My house is a farmhouse with wide-width pine floors and pretty much all the furniture is vintage/antique and kind of country/shabby/farmhouse in style. I'm just not sure the new chairs fit with the style. (But then again, maybe my style could use some shaking-up!) Also Ingrid - the coffee table is a chest brought back from China by a relative. It has odd Chinese paintings on it featuring little bald people with fishing poles. I hated it at first and had planned to paint the whole thing black but over time the paintings have grown on me. And though you can't tell in the picture, that exact shade of turquoise is in the rug. Really the rug has pretty much every shade in the room which I guess is handy for giving lots of choices for accessorizing -- and my accessorizing skills can clearly use all the help they can get!...See MoreShould I Stay or Should I Go Now?
Comments (28)If you move now, you would lose $60k immediately and the future growth potential of your current house. It will take 50 months for you to recoup the loss if you indeed could save $1200/month (assume you will save the amount instead of just spend it on vacation...etc.). In other words, at the 33rd month, you will be in a smaller house, using the alimony you do not have to pay to recoup the loss sooner. If you stay, you have the choice of using the equity on the house for any short term needs. At the 33rd month, all the amount for alimony will be available for you. Being an education-fanatic, I am struggling over your tuition savings. In MHO, it should not be the problem all for you to face, the mother should have to share it too....See MoreFrustratedMomof4
