If you can see a second line AT ALL, you're preggers. I've taken lots and lots of the over-the-counter tests, and they've NEVER been wrong. Even the faintest of faint lines mean pregnant.

When I was pregnant with my son the second line also showed up very faintly on the home test. I took a bunch, just to make sure I really was pregnant because I could not believe it. The lines show up fainter if you don't have a lot of the pregnancy hormone in your system, or if you have drank a lot of fluids or gone to the bathroom a lot already that day.

And good idea on waiting to tell your girls. My skids bm was pregnant by her boyfriend right after she left dh. She told the kids about it right away (which I think is really bad timing). Anyways she miscarried soon after and my younger sd still talks about her "sister" that died. It is kind of sad.

If there is any hint of pink in that second line, YOU'RE PREGNANT!!! Good for you. Keep us posted. I worried about miscarriage also. Are you real tired, nauseated yet? How exciting!! You should be due in Jan/Feb. You start counting weeks by the date of your last period. You probably have about 36 of them to go.

I'm not sure if this will help you at all, but if you made it to the point of a late period and a positive test, you're already out of the worst of the woods for miscarriage (most miscarriages occur before the woman even knows she's pregnant) so try to calm yourself down with that knowledge. Your doctor's appointment should also set your nerves at ease, as will telling DH and verbalizing your fears. (My sister miscarried a few years ago, so we talked a LOT about statistics and feelings and so on when she was pregnant with my nephew who is now a year and a half)

good news! good luck and you are right about waiting to tell the kids. i do not know your age but make sure you do everything what doctor says and take good care of yourself.

Congradulations!!!! yah any faint line is a positive!!!!
Dont' worry! Relax, take it easy! my sister in law is also pregnant after 8 years trying...she has a son and had some miscarriages in between so she is very nervous herself. Her doc told her, put your feet up and relax!!!! Every pregnancy is different.
And yes, i agree withyou, wait to tell the girls until later.

I took two more tests. They were the idiot proof kind that say PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT and I most certainly am with child. Daddy is really excited. I didn't want to tell the girls but he spilled the beans to them and half of the town we live in. He ran up to his part time night job and told all the fella's there as well as all the neighbors, all of his family and I'm sure he was strutting around like a rooster at his day job this morning.

We went out to eat with the girls to celebrate at a resteraunt we frequent....he was telling all the staff. HAHAHA. The girls kept announcing it to complete strangers as they left the resteraunt. I wanted to crawl under the table and die everytime.

The girls are so excited so now I am MORE paranoid.
J made me get of the computer last night. I was ordered to stop looking stuff up. Thanks for all the congrats!!! We are all very excited. Thoughts and prayers for a smooth pregnancy would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, if you're already nervous, stop looking stuff up. I watched a lot of those baby stories on TLC when I was preganant with my second, and then she had one of those births where she had a bowel movement before she was born, and I was so paranoid that we were both going to die from it....We're both fine!!! No more of those shows for me while pregnant. All they do is make you think of the myriad of things that could go wrong, but probably won't. I'm sure you'll be fine...just relax!!
