Is this fair?

The situation is that 17 yo SS#2 is in residential treatment for cutting himself and substance abuse. BioMom told DH that since we are paying for treatment (approx. $21,000/month, which is NOT covered by insurance, and he's already been there for a month, with no end in sight), she would waive her $4,000 monthly CS until he is released. She still receives $2,000/month in maintenance, despite the fact that she has remarried. We have also been paying the medical bills not covered by insurance from his hospitalization prior to his residential treatment, and that has added up to a couple of thousand dollars. I went ahead and paid them since we weren't paying CS.

Now, BioMom has changed her mind about CS. She says she still has expenses. DH told her if she still wants CS, we will pay half of the residential treatment. She doesn't want to do this. She thinks that since DH makes a comfortable living, DH should be 100% responsible for treatment, plus still pay CS in addition to maintenance.

I will add that BioMom did receive close to $1 million in marital assets in the divorce, so she is not destitute.

I think it is just fine that we pay for our son's treatment. I don't have any issue with that. It just rankles me that BioMom thinks she shouldn't have to pay for anything, plus still get $6,000/month. I mean, he is her son, too!

Am I being selfish and greedy? I would love to hear from the BioMoms out there.
