Guest Picks: Get Antiques-Fair Style Right From Home
Spare yourself the crowds and heat of Antique Weekend in Texas by picking up these similar-style finds online
When September comes into view, I have to admit I get a bit excited — OK, a lot excited. Not only am I relieved that the summer heat is on its way out, but I’m also superpumped about Antique Weekend, in and around Round Top, Texas! It’s the biggest antiques show in the galaxy, and yet it takes place in and around the smallest incorporated town in Texas. (Disclaimer: It might not actually be the biggest in the galaxy, but I’m in Texas, so by law I am required to call it the biggest — it’s just how we roll).
Round Top, Texas, is the home of the Junk Gypsies, Royers Café (think luscious pies), Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic Couture Store and Cedar Hill Farmhouse (my family farm and the namesake for my blog). This event is big — and I mean big. It stretches on for miles, and events take place not only along state highway 237, but also in many towns within a 10-mile radius. It’s definitely an event worth attending, but for those of you who can’t make it this year, I’ve curated a Round Top–style collection of items that you can buy online. — Anita from Cedar Hill Farmhouse

French Country Grain Sack Burlap Occasional Chair
I love the way this chair combines comfort, French style and a rustic fabric.
Bon Appetit Napkins, Set of 4
Paper napkins just seem ho-hum after you spy these cute little numbers.
Vintage-Style Scale Clock
Is it a clock or a scale? My vote is a new clock made to look like a vintage scale — very clever.
Vintage-Style Sack Ottoman
I am of the “you can’t have too many ottomans” camp. You can use them for extra seating or as a place to put your feet on; or put a tray on one and use it like a coffee table. This one is small, so it will fit in tight spots.
Antique White French Country Coat and Hat Rack
Hooks are a great way to use wall space as decorative storage. Hang coats, towels or a vintage hat from this vintage-looking rack.
Route 66 Rusty Vintage Metal Sign Street Sign
Route 66 is such a symbol of America, especially old-time America. My dad worked for Phillips 66 during my entire childhood, so this sign brings back lots of fond memories for me.
Galvanized Rusty Metal Pendant With Rope
Rust and rope are common themes at Round Top. This pendant lamp goes with both farmhouse and industrial styles.
Grain Sack Printed Feedsack Pillow
I’m not sure what it is about grain sacks, but I just can’t get enough of them!
Vintage Authentic Grain Sack Pillow Cover by Medreana
Vintage fabrics fascinate me, especially if the fabric is from vintage grain sacks. Grain sacks were used to hold grains for families, and each family had their own pattern to identify whose grain belonged to whom — kind of like how each family in Scotland has its own tartan. The fabric is often very soft and durable.
Telestar Table Lamp - $145.00
I love this metal lamp with two Edison bulbs. It’s industrial, quirky and fun.
Pom Pom Curtain Panel - Classica Tie Top Linen Voile White
Linen shower curtains are very difficult to find. This one is especially lovely.
Vintage Mason Jar Sconce Light, Oil Rubbed Bronze - $80.00
Mason jars are superpopular right now, and this wall sconce is a great way to add some mason jar goodness to a room.
Painted Mini Light Gray Candlestick
For a wow factor, add this candleholder to your room. With gold, metal and chippy gray paint, it’s a trifecta of loveliness.
Vintage Olive Basket
Vintage olive buckets can be used for storage or as trash bins, and can even be converted to funky pendant lights. Their rusty patina is coveted all over blog land.
Iron Laurel Wreath
This metal wreath is something you could set on a stack of books in the dining room to give it a library feel.
Distressed Wood Laundry Drying Rack With Shelves & Hooks
If I could hang my clothes here, maybe I would enjoy laundry day a bit more — but then again, maybe not.
Mason Jar Chandelier Trio With Vintage Quart Jars, Oil Rubbed Bronze - $220.00
A mason jar chandelier is so Round Top! It’s funky, quirky and vintage all at the same time.
Meriden Wood Ladder Display Shelf
A shelf that looks like a vintage ladder is a great way to display collections. This one would work well in a small bathroom as storage for towels and other bath items.
Pair Arlong Antique Oak Finished French Country Outdoor Urn
Although new, this wood finial looks aged and is full of character.
36 Inch Industrial Rustic Metal Large Number 5
Numbers and letters are fun to work with in design. All you have to do is select your lucky number.
